Apple Keyboard II dead numpad keys

Hey y'all!
I bought an absolutely thrashed Apple Keyboard II a while back. It probably had something spilled inside it at some point, and was likely used by a smoker if the detritus inside is any indication. Gross!! Anyway...I've cleaned it a few times and still cannot get the numpad keys 1/2/3 to work. Yesterday, I gave the PCB a clean with alcohol using a toothbrush, and gently wiped off that area on the membrane (I don't love that the green trace mask seems to rub off...yikes!) but still nothing.

TBH this is a bad keyboard, and I have the USB to ADB adapter from BMOW so I have other keyboards that work with my Mac SE...but I want this dang keyboard to work correctly 100%! Any ideas as to what might be going wrong?

I wonder if whatever was spilled was corrosive and damaged some traces?

FWIW, I have several Keyboard IIs that have various "keypad" keys that I've not been able to get working. Tried the same, cleaning, etc... just no joy. The rest of the keyboard works, so I just avoid the keypad.

I also have an Apple Keyboard II with intermittent keys. It had spent a long time in a moist basement. I have cleaned it thoroughly, but a number of keys are unresponsive. I suspect it has to do with the membrane sheets, but I'm not sure how to approach repairing such a thing. I know about trace repair pens/paint, but I've never used any of it...

I took a look at the traces when I had it open and both times they looked fine? I worry that the traces are so thin on the sheet that if you were to strip the top layer to expose them, you'd probably destroy the entire membrane in the process, making trace repair paint more trouble than it's worth. Good to hear I'm not alone! Apple should have stuck to mechanical keys on this model.
