I would say a IIgs mobo would be a better candidate for a portable for a number of reasons... it has ADB and I believe some of the older PB keyboards are ADB compatible. Also it has all the expansion slots, so you could include a CF drive instead of the bulky floppy drive.Well ok, I finally have aquired a IIc plus (its on its way here). So I was wondering, how far fetch'd is it to build a portable IIc? Is the mobo very big? I was thinking maybe I could mod it into an older non functional PowerBook.
I remember seeing one battery pack that was essentially a soft-shell case for the IIc with room for a small car battery...There was a battery pack and small LCD screen available for the IIc, both of which are considered treasured finds today if you can lay your hands on either one.
The Prairie Power is the one I was thinking of... combined weight of battery and computer (with LCD) is a mere 20 lbs!
That's not the battery pack I was thinking of. The one I was thinking of hangs off the back of the IIc so you can transport the computer, screen and battery as a single unit. I'll search and see if I can find pictures.a working apple IIc with the LCD display, battery packstarting up Multiscribe

That is really cool [8D]About the best thing you can do to make the IIc+ portable would be to add a Playstation LCD screen to it, like I did with my original IIc. You can see pictures of it here: http://blackfletch.freeservers.com/appleIIc.htm
