One of the SE Superdrives has a MicroMax Technology 68030 Card from 1994. No FPU installed in the FPU socket.

1 SE/30 doesn't work... the battery ate away everything near it, and the Classic II is dead. Just shows a small rectangle on the screen. Everything else works, and the Quadra is loaded with goodies on the HD.

Hi,

Nice find! What are you going to do with the dead SE/30? It might be a good parts machine, assuming the battery acid didn't come in contact with other components beside the logic board (at the very least, the case is good for something, right?)

The Classic II on the other hand, sounds more likely to make a recovery. A small rectangle on the screen could be a failing power supply, no?

Did all those things cost you some, or were they free?

Luckily, the battery acid only damaged the logic board. I was able to salvage the memory and the ROM SIMM, though. And the battery was? You guessed it, a Maxell. Not sure about the Classic II. I looked at the logic board, and there is very little capacitor leakage.

I got them from a guy that's local to me. He emailed me and asked me if I wanted them. If not, they were going to the local eScrap center. I had a craigslist ad up looking for "old, unwanted Macs".
