$37 USB Microscope on Amazon..Great results!

Maybe I'm late to the party but this thing has completely amazed me today. Not trying to advertise any specific microscope as I'm sure there are comparable ones. I just was not aware this kind of tool was available this cheap..

So 1600x1200 resolution. Full 1080 would be better but for the price that's pretty good.

Yeah maxes out at 1600x1200.

Is that native or interpolated? Plenty of old cheap units out there that are just 640x480.

I'm honestly not sure. All I can say is that it is extremely helpful for $37. It's definitely enough to get in there and do some close up work. Nice manual focus too.

What I like about this particular microscope is the surface... so many of these cheap microscopes have stands that are awkward or effectively useless for board-level work, but this one actually looks useful.

yeah, I actually use a glass desk which I know is kind of unusual but it's perfect for this because of the suction cup stand.

Not since the Pinecil, have I felt so good about spending 40 bucks on this hobby.

should definitely get one of these. it would help a lot especially with the pain and suffering i'm going through with a certain project of mine.

damn, the quality on this is impressive! what matters a lot is definitely the optical zoom... its perfect for what i'm doing. here's a test photo i took with a clean, but 32-bit dirty SE/30 ROM SIMM. lol

I have one of these also. While it's not great - it's a webcam grafted to a microscope, after all - it is extremely adequate, and a heck of a lot better than fiddling with something by hand.

i mean its a heck of a deal considering how expensive the professional grade ones are... and also more expensive ones used for repairs. this is really going to help me out... especially with stuff like my se30 project which is getting quite rough, and now i see why i'm having issues. soldering as a whole is way harder than it looks, especially with putting more complex components on. at least that's what i think.
