I just won an ebay auction on an iMac DV for $11. 400mhz, 64mb ram, maybe a 40gb hard drive. Local pickup hopefully tomorrow. It has the original box and software CDs too. More to follow...

wow local pickup WITH original box/software!...doesn't get much better than that!

Take pics... I don't recall what the slot loading imac boxes looked like!

Nice one! It is amazing how little these iMacs sell for these days, given how functional they still are as modern computers.

There not a bad computer, I did 2 years of University with one. They take normal PC100-133 ram, which installs easy and are quiet because of they don't have a fan. With some more ram it could even handle Tiger.

Its here. Better than I expected. Original box and foam with all the CDs including an OS 9.2 CD. Matching keyboard and hockey puck mouse. Booted up to OS 9.2.1. Internal modem doesn't work so it came with an external 56k Zoom USB powered modem. 37 gb hard drive. Only 64 mb of ram so I threw in a 128 mb stick I had lying around for 192 mb total now. Ethernet works and I was browsing with Mozilla. I'll post some images when I get a chance. It is in great shape. Now I needs to decide if I should leave OS 9 on it or add more ram and put on Panther.

What color? Graphite I presume.
Blueberry. These came in the same colors as the original five flavor models. Just upgraded to 9.2.2 also. DVD player works. It came with an original iMovie CD too.

Sounds like a good machine. The 37GB hard drive is probably not the original as I think the 400MHz DV iMacs shipped with 10, 12 or 20GB drives.

It will make a very good OS 9 machine but Panther will also run acceptably well on it with 192MB RAM. If you can source a couple of 256MB sticks or even a 512MB stick then it would run Tiger at a very usable level.

Unformatted it is 40gb. I may give panther a try if I up the ram to 256mb.
