Can anyone tell me if the Apple AC Adapter M3365 will work with a StyleWriter 2200? If I'm not mistaken, its built for the 1500 and 2500, but its essentailly the same voltage, I just don't know if it will physically plug in.
I've got a nice 2100 thats been kind of borked up since I got it. The unit powers on and brings you to the screen calibration screen. The screen responds to the touch of the stylus, but will never complete the calibration. It'll just look back to the first point and keep going indefinitely. ...
I work at a computer store that takes recycles. Not long ago someone brought in what was an extremely un-interesting LC II to be trashed. I've got too many of these pizza box Macs that i personally already have to get rid of, so I had no interest in taking it home, but opened it up anyhow just...
About a month ago my old 7600 decided it was time to die, so I began my search for another PCI based Power Macintosh to replace it. Luckily a fellow member of our local user group was generous enough to donate an 8600/200 to me. I just got it, and to my surprise it came in the original box...
I love my Newtons. Unfortunately, since I got my iPod Touch last December they haven't seen as much use as they used to get. I was wondering if anyone here ever tried programming for newtons before, and how difficult it would be for someone who has zero programming experience to learn. My...
Earlier this week I won 2 Powermac G5 systems of a well known auction site for $240 shipped. Both are June 2004 models with 1GB of RAM with dual 2GHz processors. Best part of all? They actually function fully! Aside from some case damage on one of them, there are flawless. I found out on...
Hey guys. I got one of the blue VGA Apple Studio Displays today at a yard sale for $5. It simply had a sign that said, "Not working" so I thought I'd give it a shot for $5. At some point the original VGA cable was cut off and the PO thought he would try and re-wire it up using a new VGA cable...
If you have a clamshell iBook (or a few iBooks) take a look at the bottom between the Apple logo and the battery. See those holes? Those are actually charging points for some sort of rack charger. Does anyone know if one of these charging stations was actually ever produced? Apparently Apple...
A friend of mine just got a Powerbook 1400cs but without a CD-ROM drive. Its running a horrifyingly old install of 7.5.3 thats probably been on there since 1996. We'd like to get it running a nice clean install of 8.1 but only have it on CD. I know there was never a floppy disk version of 8...
I was messing around with TvPad on my Newton the other day and thought, "Hey, how cool would it be if someone were to write a Newton app that controlled Front Row on the Mac!?" Think about how useful it could be when doing presentations to have your remote control and presentation notes all in...
So I've recently gotten a copy of Rhapsody 2 that I'd like to get running on an older Mac. I honestly don't know much about the software, but if I were to install it on an older system, what would be sufficient? I think I'd like to put it on my Performa 6400/180 with a 6gb hard drive. Does...
I have recently acquired an 867MHz Titanium Powerbook G4. Since having it the past few days, I've learned this thing has got a huge set if problems. Most of these I think can be attributed to small bits of corrosion on the logic board which I've discovered. The first issue I encountered was...
I've always loved the TiBook. When they came out, I couldn't believe how amazing and modern the design was. Well my time has finally come to be a TiBook owner! This past week I won an 867MHz model for approx $50 shipped. Its not in great condition, and the current owner said there might be a...
Yes, I've finally done it. I've had 2 drives running flawlessly in my 1st B&W G3 for many years now, so today I decided to try and get 3 running in my #2 G3. Specs are very simple. Originally 300MHz overclocked to 350MHz with a CD-ROM drive and 448MB of RAM. I was able to install a 20Gb...
After agonizing over this for a long time myself, I thought it was time to see if I could get some help from some fellow classic Mac gurus. Here's the problem, I am trying to digitize short video clips from my VCR onto my Powermac 7600. Hardware specs: 10Gb SCSI hard drive, 256Mb of RAM, and...
I have always wondered if the motherboard from a Powermac 6500 could be used in a Performa 6400. I've had a 6400/180 for years and thought it would be cool to stick a 300MHz board from a 6500 in there just for kicks. About the only difference I can see is the lack of built in RAM and the...
I was wondering if any of you can still successfully send email from your Newton. I've been able to set up Eudora to receive messages, but modern email servers seem to require SSL for sending messages which I can't get to work on my Newton. I'd really like to be able to send messages on the...
