    LC II - Second Floppy

it would be cool to have an LC or LC II with dual floppy drives and a SCSI to SD internally mounted.  I'd do it, but I don't bother with floppies, just hard drive and network

    A Mac LC, a Daynaport E / Z and *shudder* MacTCP

I am in the Philippines, and have lots of these old Mac networking gear, so if you are in country and need some old networking stuff, send me a message here

    A Mac LC, a Daynaport E / Z and *shudder* MacTCP

Hi, I have several of these and have successfully used them with various classic Macs. It is a SERIAL to Ethernet Adaptor, like modern USB to Ethernet Adaptors. It runs at around 900kbps (if the serial port supports high-speed mode, 030 Macs do). I've used it with PB Duos, Powerbooks, Classic...

What can I do with my Nubus GPIB cards?

there's manual here: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/320496.pdf and a driver here: http://www.ni.com/product-documentation/5458/en/#toc4 the hard part is getting a cable to use it with... I have one of these cards, but have never used them. Seems simpler to get a raspberry and use its GPIO.

Man selling a "priceless" 6100 on eBay

And I have a 7100 that came from the Genentech Clean Room. It has Genentech engraved on the case and it was shockingly clean for a 10 year old machine (when I bought it). It's less clean now.

What to do with a 7200?

Move the stuff on the 7300 to the 7200. then, you'll have a free 7300 that you can upgrade. there are also plenty of Beige G3 boards around, that with minimal hacking, will fit into the 7200s case.

    LCIII case

You could make it a hard drive case, or stick a mini ATX board in it/

    itunes

Just use Audion instead. Much less heavy, and it's freeware now. Other lighter MP3 players are reviewed here: http://www.applelinks.com/mooresviews/players.shtml Some of the players mentioned can be hard to find.

    Quadra 840AV Locking Up

Have you checked your RAM speed? The 840AV requires 60ns RAM, most other quadras get by with 70ns RAM. Your RAM could be failing.

    Quadra 630

I would suggest another Quadra 650 or a Quadra 605 with an Ethernet card.

    Overclocking...worth it?

Aside from the 6200s design issues, overclocking older motherboards tened to lead to their earlier demise. It's not so much the processor, which simply shuts down whenn excessively overclocked, but the capacitors on the board which leak before their time (actually most of thsoe macs are already...

    OS on a 6500

Go for 9.22 with the patch kit from http://www.os9forever.com The Max RAM for that machine is 256 MB with two pieces of hard to find 128MB EDO RAM. The 6500 can take advantage of EDO. A fast IDE hard drive will help speed things up a bit. Heck you could even use a flash hard drive. With two...

Mac Plus to Mac Classic keyboard lead/cable?

The earlier posts are correct: There is no Apple Desktop Bus controller in a Mac Plus. It's a serial controller that only works with keyboards complying with Apple's serial keyboard protocol. Datadesk's Mac101E keyboard has both an ADB and serial port. I have one of these and have used it...

    DiiMOCache 50mhz Accelerator

It's interesting how he was able to re-use the IIci's Power supply for the G3 motherboard.

    pm 6500 take apart.

That motherboard will fit perfectly in a 6200 or 6360 case. You'll need to use a single PCI riser instead of the dualie that it came with. Unlike the 6400, the 6500 board doesn't need a power supply modification to function in the 6360 case as there's a 3.3V regulator on board.

    Video on PPC Macs

IIRC there is an extension you'll have to find that fixes that issue of Sound being out of Sync with Video on non-Performa Power Macs. There's also another extension that you need if you're using a PCI IDE card. Try searching for "AV PCI Mac Sync Extension"

    PM 6500

It might be possible if you'd write a new enabler extension that would be smart enough to know which instructions to send to each processor. You'd have to be a really smart software engineer to do that and I would think the odds of that happening are probably higher in PPC Linux than the Mac OS.

    Strata Videoshop 3.0

It was Strata VideoShop, then it became Avid Video Shop, improved a little bit, then bundled with the Avid Video Kit for Performa 6400/6500 and their AIO kin. Version 3.0 is FREEWARE! Woohoo!!! It's supposed to have a VideoShop PowerPlug for use with PPC Macs. It's a library of PPC routines...

    Save the TiBook!

I'm not too sure about that. The first time I laid my hands on an Intel Mac I was amazed by how snappy the OS was. Remember the Mach Kernel and BSD core were built for x86. Steve said so himself. Running it on PPC was the hack.
