I have put up a first version of my Xilinx XC3-family bitstream viewer online.
It is over here: XC3000 display
The source code can be found on Github over here.
What is this?
It is the tool I have been developing in my other thread, the one about the Lapis ProColorServer. It is built from...
From what I read, there are key combinations that are alternatives to programmer switches -- handy for something like the IIsi, which lacks these switches.
Command+Ctrl+Power to reset the Mac, that one works fine.
Command+Power to send an interrupt, that one doesn't work. I'm not sure why...
I'm running into a weird issue with my IIsi NuBus adapter. Basically, if I put a Lapis ProColorServer II in it, the Mac doesn't boot -- it gets stuck on the gray pattern screen, doesn't do anything else, doesn't display any cursor or boot icon, doesn't try to access SCSI.
But, that's the thing...
I figured I might as well make a thread for this video card, as it piques my curiosity.
I did get that card a while ago, but didn't do much with it at the time. Reason was that I couldn't really get it to work with much.
I looked into it again lately. It does work with one of my monitors...
A while ago I got a Macintosh IIsi. Gave it a quick test when receiving it, and it was starting, although the HDD would just keep spinning down.
The motherboard had leaking caps, as typical, but the power supply (of Plessey brand) was absolutely clean, no traces of leakage whatsoever. I still...
As title says.
Basically, my IIfx isn't giving any sign of life, and here's what I observed so far:
UJ7, UK7, UL8 and UN9 get really hot. Not sure if that's indicative of any fault? These chips seem to be GAL16's. I'd understand why one would fail, but... all of them, at once? So I'm unsure...
I was looking around on eBay when I saw this one, so I thought, hey, why not give it a try. It was provided as 'not working' and having undergone battery leakage, but it did not look that bad...
Some of these components aren't looking too hot, but compared to the pics of Maxell-bombed Macs...
I ordered some supplies so I can redo my soldering on my Mac LC motherboard the right way. In the meantime I figured I'd focus on the power supply, which is the typical TDK one.
Of course, it had crapoed capacitors, so I replaced all the output-side capacitors and cleaned up the mess. The power...
So a while ago I got a Macintosh LC, power supply was dead but in the meantime I was able to get it working by connecting it to an ATX power supply. It had no sound but otherwise seemed to work fine. Obviously the capacitors were at fault there, so I got new capacitors and set to work...
