Switzerland: PowerBook PCMCIA Expansion Module (with PB 540c)

There is an auction (for want of a better word) in Switzerland for a PowerBook PCMCIA Expansion Module (rev. C, I think) and it comes with a free working PowerBook 540c, cables & charger.
At CHF 600 (roughly USD 660), it is much too pricey for my liking but there may be some collectors who find the price not unreasonable.

If anybody would like it, I will be happy to act as an intermediary. You can contact me by PM me.

The prices for those things, even including the computer, has officially entered nonsense territory as far as I'm concerned.

indeed nonsense prices, two years ago you could get a 3400c for 70 bucks now suddenly its 600..

Looking at the 40MB it has built-in, it would have a PowerPC upgrade as well.

Also, this image is just trippy. What is that, a full size 540c and a smaller one? :ROFLMAO:

I think it just looks bigger because they're offset, with one next to the power brick, and the other looking particularly small enclosed in the styrofoam. Also the angle of the photo.

You’re right. Also I think the left hand PowerBook is raised up. Still, the picture does play tricks!

BTW:
I have 2 of these still working PB 540c with
PCMCIA modules Rev. B and Rev. C and both Powerbooks with SCSI2CF adapters inside. It would never come in my mind to demand such excessive prices.
As I mentioned in an old thread I found out, that Rev. B module works fine with special CF-cards. One of them is a
SanDisk Extreme III with 2 GB.
Sorry to say, a third PB 540c is sick now.
