Welcome aboard; and awesome score on the NOS Oregon Trail! I'm getting double nostalgia...back in Primary School the Computer Lab had a bunch of soft are boxes taped up on a wall, each a couple feet apart or so. Oregon Trail was up there, and I played it there and at home!
I was just playing with the PowerBook 1400 series demo the other day when I pulled out the 1400c to relive memories of Kid Pix with some friends. :o)
I had forgotten the old in-store style demo was still on it!
My first Mac, a Performa 550, was a in-store demo unit at a local Wal-Mart; and...
I've used both plenty of both over the years, and never had a preference. I even didn't know what brand AAUI transceiver was faithfully hanging out the back of my LaserWriter 16/600...I just had to get up and go find out. (Farallon!) Fairly sure there are more in the basement, not sure how many...
Shouldbe pretty simple getting one to connect to the other. Make sure AppleTalk is active in both Mac's Chooser. Double-check that both have the correct network connection selected. If sharing is turned on with one, it should then show up in the other's Chooser. Since we're just doing plain ol'...
If it were me I'd buy a new Canon BC-02 cartridge. (The 500 page yield BC-02 replaced the 450 page yield BC-01.) They can be had without spending much; and if the printer works it sounds like you'll need one anyway. I skimmed the StyleWriter II Service Source manual, but I didn't see anything...
I feel like my Plus box has the picture angled on one side and straight-on on the other side. I'm too beat from having just pulled a double shift to go outside and into the basement to take a look right away; but I'll take a peak later when I get the energy to go down there to do some laundry...
NJRoadfan gave good info.
To toss in my two cents...I use an LC III because of its small size and low power consumption. If you're not leaving it on 24/7, or just aren't too worried about electricity usage, then this isn't too big of a deal. (This is assuming you've got/are willing to get an...
Apple says here that there was a 3rd party FPU upgrade option for the LC and others listed on the card. I'm having trouble locating the make and model of this exact card, but I'm searching the web. Low End Mac references lots of upgrades, but none with an '020.
Nice work! I really appreciate the care you've taken in your restoration. Without some preservation there won't be any left down the road.
My two best G3 iMacs still have a place on my desk; a Snow and Graphite, both of are 600 MHz. They serve little purpose in their current roles, but at...
Very nice find, especially for $20! I'd say the 5400/200 and LC 580 are a bit less common than some of the other models they shared their respective form factors with as well (or so it seems in my experience)...but the 9150 is obviously an amazingly awesome find.
Congratulations; I'm sure...
I imagine an older version of Word or Nisus Writer would probably have some templates for labels and such. I haven't used any of my ImageWriters for this.
I do use Print Shop for making banners with my ImageWriter II. Easier than taping a bunch of sheets of paper together trying to get them all...
For what it's worth, I agree that it does appear to be a Blueberry model. With any luck it's the 400 MHz model with FireWire. M5521 is what they used on all the slot loaders. If they had angled that second picture a little more we'd be able to see if the FW ports are there or not.
Unfortunately...
You inspired me to go digging around in the clamshell service manual for any info. It would seem that there's a sound issue as you stated since it seems the flashes should be accompanied by beeps. This says four flashes would be equal to three beeps (no good banks). The manual says to double...
