Ok! I was a little confused by the female connector, but after some tips it turns out its wired for IIgs and displays a picture just fine coming off my ROM3 machine. Its a bit larger than the IIgs screen so maybe I keep it as a backup? Is this sort of mod something that has been documented before?

A few months ago I picked up this old Apple Monitor out of a bunch of discarded CRT screens. I will admit I have never seen one of the color IIc displays before, only the IIe Platinum version which seems to be basically the same. Anyway, I was even more curious once I saw this strange connector...

@Powerbase do you have the dongles for that road rocket? I am curious if they are mostly passive wiring. I recently found one without the dongles and would love to get it working by making some.

yeah and the clock at the top doesn't have the stripes either! If it was everywhere on the screen I would assume it was a cable or vram problem. So I took it out to look at the caps and ram, everything seemed ok. I then took the card out of the PDS case/riser to inspect the back as well. It...

Hmmmm ok, all the ram on this card is soldered to the board, I'll take a closer look at the chips. I didn't see any obvious cap leakage, but I haven't tested them yet with a multimeter.

Just got an AV card out of a trashed 6100 AV to stick in my trusty 6116CD. When I first booted it up I got an image, but there were red line showing up at regular intervals on the screen. Thanks for the info. I have one of the updated ROM cards for my SE/30. So it can be flashed to give more features for a Centris/Quadra as well. Interesting.

Wait, what is this Pirate Rom and Centris Doubler? I have heard of the Quad Doubler but not a Centris specific one?

An update on this - it seems to be related to Quickdraw GX. If i enable that and Colorsync the Laserwriter 8 extension will silently not load. Not sure what that means yet, but leaving info here as I find it for future searchers.

Ok so I have a 7.5.5 machine that works just fine on the network, with Appleshare and the LaserWriter 8.5 software installed. The thing is, I ONLY see the AppleShare icon in chooser when booted normally and when I try to run the desktop printer utility it says I need to have the desktop printer...

It happens right from boot for me, but maybe I have a more advanced form of whatever ails your machine. @jeremywork

I ordered some up - I haven't remounted a chip before but I have a IIci that I think needs a similar removal and cleaning so I'll perhaps do a trial run on that machine. Thanks so much for the info, might be a while before I actually get these things in there.

I have an LC 630 Dos Compatible that makes constant staticy sounds out of the speaker when turned on. It seems to work otherwise just fine. I tried plugging in external speakers too and those also made the noise. I know it is a different sort of issue, but seems somewhat similar to what you went...
