Mac IIci no video from motherboard, but I do get it from video card.

Okay. So if I'm understanding this correctly, I have a fully functional Iici, but I either need a different VGA adaptor, or different monitor to test the motherboard video. The thing is, the monitor usually tells me if there is an incompatible signal. It was doing that with the NuBus card...

Mac IIci no video from motherboard, but I do get it from video card.

Not really a huge deal, but it would be nice if I could get this fully functional. Just as the title says, I got a Mac IIci that came with a NuBus video card and an Apple branded IIci Catche Card. It needed a full recap, and the battery was dead (since removed). Other than that, it was just...

Anyone know where to find a Surface Mount 25 MHz 68030 Processor?

Have a Macintosh Iici that suffered a bit of damage to the processor. I managed to remove it. Only lost a bout 7 pads, 4 of which were no contact. With a little bit of luck, I think I can fix this. But I need a replacement. Any suggestions?

Apple II (Not Plus) Board has Issues

Yes. I have a Language Card. However, it's not being recognized when installed, either by DOS or diagnostic software. There was a RAM issue! I basically had to strip it down to its base 16k and then work my way up to a full set of working chips bank by bank, but it now loads programs from...

Apple II (Not Plus) Board has Issues

Recently got a Rev.2 Apple II board. Originally had AppleSoft ROMs, But the AutoStart had a bad pin (broke off) so I replaced them with an Integer set I had on a II+ board. The board boots to the Machine Monitor, and with a ROM switch card (AppleSoft onboard) in Slot 0, it will go to BASIC. I...

Mac SE FSHD black screen + loud noise

Sadly no. The neck card is low voltage. That kind of arching is caused when the CRT no longer keeps a vacuum.

Screen Cuts Out on my Macintosh Plus.

Yup! Cracked joints.... Or so I'm guessing. I've reflowed these connections at least five times, but ended up desoldering and resoldering the connector to the motherboard and it seems to be holding. Fingers crossed. Thanks all!! :)

Mac SE FSHD black screen + loud noise

The last time I saw something like that was on my Commodore PET. The stem of the CRT had been broken off just past the neck board. If the sound you hear is similar to the sound in the video, it's likely be electrical arching inside the machine. Unfortunately, it means that you will need a...

Screen Cuts Out on my Macintosh Plus.

Just as the title says. The screen goes black after about 5 to 10 minutes of use. Hitting it on the side with the analog board will bring it back for a few seconds at best but with diminishing returns every time. The good news is that the computer boots and loads an operating system. SCSI port...

Quick Disk II 13/16 Sector Question

I recently came across the 13 sector ROMs for a Disk II Controller Card and thought I'd give them a try. But before I do, I wanted to know if a 13 and 16 sector card can peacefully coexist on the same computer? Or would I need to designate a separate machine? (not my preferred solution since...

    Apple IIc and monitor

As long as the monitor is monochrome, then yes I can confirm that it will work. I live in the US, and I've hooked up a PAL C64 and ZX Spectrum to my Apple Monitor /// without a problem. Just needed a minor adjustment to the vertical hold.

Apple IIc - no beep, no drive seek, no video (maybe) - worth repairing?

Unfortunately, the //c defaults to the internal drive when booting from 5.25 disks. I believe you can still boot 3.5 (800k) and smart HDD images externally, but you will probably need to open the computer and attach the EMU to the internal 20 pin socket to boot a 5.25 (140k) image.

Apple IIc - no beep, no drive seek, no video (maybe) - worth repairing?

The garbage you're seeing on screen is normal for the age of the machine. My //c does the same thing (also one of my //e's). From what I understand, it has something to do with the aging of the RAM chips. Older chips seem to retain their memory for a bit after power-off, causing glitches when...

    Apple ][ (or ][ PLUS)?

Thanks for all the replies, and sorry for not responding sooner. It's really interesting to see all the info on the ]['s extended lifespan. I really didn't expect to learn that it went on as long as it did. As for my board, I'm pretty sure it's a ][ now, though it likely started out as a ][...

    Apple ][ (or ][ PLUS)?

I recently got this board off of eBay and was wondering if it is what I think it is (i.e. an Apple ][ board and not a ][ Plus)? I think it is... At least it looks like one, but the date codes are from 79. The info I found on when the ][ was canceled is contradictory. Some say 79 while others...
