23" Apple Cinema HD Display DC Mod

Picked up this beautiful ACD today for a good price. Needs some cosmetic restoration but appears to be in good condition.

Has anyone modded these to run off a standard DC jack instead of needing to rely on the ADC cable?

Yes, it appears you can - found this guide on the Wayback archive. I'm sure the 2026 version can be a bit more elegant maybe than chopping out slots maybe with a long DVI cable and jack.

There also exists the Apple DVI to ADC adapter (model A1006) which does all this in a much more elegant way. Keep an eye out for them, the couple I came across recently were dirt cheap as nobody uses DVI nor these display anymore.

This would be the ideal solution but they're mad expensive. I'll look out for one of these, but if i don't find one, I'll probably try to create a replacement or something
