Decided it was time to show everyone my measly (but still a collection, it's in progress... My parents are not happy... )

Background:

I liked old stuff sense I saw the 1969 camaro. Cool car, best looking grill etc. My dad works on computers, and thusly from time to time I get to help him. Unfortunantly for him, I found a channel named thisdoesnotcompute and got hooked. I already couldn't just throw old computers out. And there are even older and cooler ones! What a stroke of luck I thought. Then a Macintosh Portable showed up in the thrift store. I loved it. Was able to buy it for $200 (tax is a stinker) and fix it up. Only cost me and my wallet $300. Dad thought it would be the end... It was not!

Macintosh Portable. Thoughts: Cool. Awesome. Big. Unneccesarily heavy. Otherwise great for playing nothing without ram. I like it!

Surround sound Walkmans! I couldn't leave the house without mine in my teenage years! The original Sony headphones that fit into your ears were my favorite headset of all time.

My Portable is half taken apart. Don't want to break the clips by taking it apart to many times!

The Dell dimension. It is really nice case design. Really easy to work on, just couldn't figure out how to open it when I got it. You have to squeaze tabs on the top and bottom! And yes, it has mismatched front panel CD-ROM drives.



Next is the label maker. Really neat machine.



Just a camera, haven't taken it out of the box yet. (Subtle foreshadownnign...)



The Sharp. Think these pocket things are neat too.

And now it's time for the reveal of the newest arrival. The one, the only. and probably the oldest. Audio thingi going to hopefully be turned into a fun old like computer with Arduinos. I have some plans for this. It looks a little like a ya know. Old computer, hand draw PCB good quality Capacitor in the power supply. Cool stuff. There is definitely enough room! Going to have to make an LED matrix for it, am I right. Like a monitor. Make when you move the levers up and down, depending on their position make a fun LED pattern or something of the sort. Don't know if you can see the vision or not.

Just learned that the rp2212 is missing slider covers and a wooden case. No biggy. It's not like it needed to hide the beauty underneath!

Cool man that portable is sweet. Just keep an eye out and you will keep finding new things. Over time the collection will grow and one day you will have too much shit all over the place like alot of people here

froggy that mutli-piece walkman made me think a bit of father's old videocamera/vcr 'kit' from a long time ago

that one is a bit older variation than his and the videocamera was more basic (no shoulderhump aspect to it and just a basic small fixed forward mic hovering over the lens) but its the same 3-pieces-setup concept nevertheless, they just simply changed over time up to till one-piece videocameras broke the scene

his was configured such that one deck was the vcr part with a slide-in battery by the rear (almost same way the 145/etc powerbook battery slide into inside the shell) and the other (aka "non-portable") deck was the one that contained the ac circuit on top of holding the tv tuner altogether .. after all home vcrs were generally expected to be able to tape their own shows so the portable one had to follow this recipe too

as for the little sharp, I believe these usually were called digital organizers. I used to have one which was very similar (but without the two white keys, and backlight didn't exist, etc), funny enough it even had a flap-protected mini-serial port on the side that was supposedly compatible with both pc and mac but of course the cable/software was something you had to separately purchase

It's the RAM that was twice expensive as anything else anyway. I do believe it required blanks in any slots that didn't have memory in them.

Willamette was the first P4 released.
