Macintosh SE/30 Triple Threat

An SE/30 with ethernet and 32MB of RAM running OS 7.1 is perfection to me.

I also like an SE with dual floppies and a skinny SCSI HD on top, especially with a Radius 68020 upgrade.

Did he order the greyscale upgrade?
What I am looking at right now:
Duelspark Twin Card Adapter For SE/30 Stratos Technology (ordered)
DayStar Turbo 040 40MHz MC68040RC40 PDS Accelerator (have it)
30Video VGA Color Video PDS Card (ordered)

Looking for something like the suggested ZuluSCSI Pico Slim (need 5Ghz).

I am new to this too. Yours looks like a fun project. Interested in how it all turns out. I also want to source an SE/30 at some point, and mess around with it. Posting here to mark this thread and learn.

I recommend the ZuluSCSI Pico Slim... It's far sturdier than the crappy case they throw in with the db25 bluescsi2 clones...
it's also far more compact... less likely to get caught on something and snap in half.
I second that recommendation. I have about a half-dozen Pico Slims sitting on the back of classic macs. Appletalk over Wifi has some minor issues, but it basically works and makes it quite easy to move files around.

OK. Where I'm at so far...
Macintosh SE/30, System 7.5.5, 128MB RAM, Fully recapped, MODE32 7.5, 2GB physical SCSI disk
Stratos Technology PCBA TwinSpark Dual Slot PDS Adapter - Apple Macintosh SE/30
DayStar Turbo 040 40MHz MC68040RC40 PDS Accelerator for IIci IIcx IIsi SE/30

Not having a lot of luck. Some screens for anyone that may have tried this.

Check your 5V rail at the logic board, and if possible, verify the accelerator works in an IIci.

Beyond that, you may need a new adapter. The twinspark adapter is not an appropriate adapter for Daystar cards: it is a clone of the DiimoCache 030 adapter and only appropriate for that card. Any other accelerator that works with the twinspark is by coincidence rather than by design, despite the designer's claims. A combination of accelerator/logic board that works for one person may not work for another as a result.

This is why I'm hoping that the FujiNet folks made some headway in 2026, I think that kind of addresses all of the file connectivity needs.
