I don’t. Oldest Mac I have rn is a G3 so, great point. One last issue: do you have other Macs that you can make 800k disks with? Plus won’t read 1.4 MBs.

Right now on eBay there's a parts/repair mouse for $23 and a few others for $40-50. I think my price is fair
ok. Great. I’ll pm you to make arrangements to buy.It did work last time I tested it but I can test again with my Plus
Thank you for posting this!
Which sort? If it’s a beige one with floppy drive, you’re fine.I don’t. Oldest Mac I have rn is a G3 so, great point.
Oops. Sorry. A G3 tower. I had a beige PM 6400 but sold it to a much better tech than me after not being able to solve an issue with it. (In my past posts if curious)Which sort? If it’s a beige one with floppy drive, you’re fine.
+1 on this, I was going to say I’d make a floppy for you, too. As Torbar said, there are some fine options there to load disk images.which tower? Beige or blue&white?
If it's beige youll be able to make disks, (long story short, to make 800k disks you need a mac with a built in floppy drive. a usb one won't work)
if you end up needing some 800k floppy disks with a system image on them to get started, i'm willing to make you some and drop them in the mail. in the long term i'd recommend either a bmow floppy emu, or a modern SCSI drive emulator(bluescsi, zuluscsi, etc) to connect to the db25 port on the Mac
For me I HAD to have a Plus because of the feel and sound of the keyboard. It brings back all kinds of memories. It's a unique feel, the keycaps are an unusual shape and the echoes inside the mechanism when you press and release keys are like a musical instrument. There is no HD in the Plus you need to plan for floppy creation - you would be better off going with an SE . (still the 68000 experience, but not as overpriced accessories [not aimed at you luRaichu, just the general prices, because these cover 128/512/Pluses] - keyboards are insane for these!)
That message feels dirty and I love it.I fondled the keyboard of a Macintosh 128k in a museum and to me it looks and feels slightly better than the Plus keyboard
It's not convenient to be swapping floppies every time you want to load up a program, just get a SCSI disk emulator. BlueSCSI seems to be the cheapest at this moment, works fine for my Plus
Oops. Blue and White kind. last beige beast I had was a 6400 but shes gone. So much new to learn with compacts!which tower? Beige or blue&white?

Speaking of visceral sensory experiences, no floppy I ever encountered sounds exactly like the seek sound of a Mac drive. I do not understand, really. It's just a Sony drive. But the seeking sound of those drives is absolutely unique. Maybe the compact shell acts as a resonant cavity to amplify certain harmonics in the soundSometimes the floppies are part of the charm. I never like to play Dark Castle/BDC except from floppies.

They're variable speed. PC ones are fixed speed. The motor changes speed to go slower the further out from the centre it is. That means the speed the magnetic medium actually travels under the heads remains about the same for different places on the disk. It’s just the head drive motor specific to them. They sound the same out of the case.
Easier said than done, prices of external drives are still high. A FloppyEmu would be a better buy these days.If you are going to get a plus you might as well get an external floppy drive as well and have the experience of flipping floppies all the time.
