Picked up a few macs, don't know where to start

Here is the SiliconGraphics Indy. This one has boards on top of boards inside im going to have to do some research to figure out where the battery is.. That little black rectangle says timekeeper on it. Anyone familiar with these? Trying to find the battery.

Going to take a little break for a while while i research about the indy. Hopefully some others come around and check out the posts too

That's the battery (amongst other things). Modern replacements have been made for it.

So for the sake of not taking all day and the computers not being that interesting I tore open a bunch of Quadra 605/610 and Power Mac 6000 series. About half of them the batteries had blew and the boards were BAD to me id say unfixable.

One stack has 2 good 605s and 2 good 610s..
Other stack has the wrecked IIfx, 3 power mac 6000s and 605 - RIP

Heres a pretty unique one I think Sun Ultra 1 Creator3D

According to the wiki "The Ultra 1 Creator3D 170E launched with a list price of US$27,995 (equivalent to $57,800 in 2024)"

I may be wrong because the gov and universities love wasting taxpayers money through grants, but I don't think these things flew off the shelves, but maybe they did...

Also found a matching mousepad and mouse new in box to go with it...

See which expansion cards are in the PM 6100s. You have at least one there that's labeled as "DOS Compatible", meaning it would have shipped with a somewhat desirable DOS Compatibility card. Sonnet also made G3 accelerator cards for the 6100.

bunch of Quadra 605

the quadra 605 is the same machine as the lc475 over here. the 605 cases are ropy, but the machines within are really very decent.

Nice, I had 2 good ones in the lot. And 1 good 475 as well. One of the LCs had an accelerator card in it as well which i was pumped about

So change of plans I went with the 2 LCs and 1 LC 475 of the lot. One of the LCs says bad motherboard and the battery was removed with what looks like very minor leakage, so I wonder if its a simple fix maybe a bad trace or something because it certainly isnt as bad as it could be? Who knows. Heres the pics. One had a little motorola card "Novy Systems Inc", the 475 card is just a modem or some sort and the bad board one had no card!

I'm hoping that little card is a good find can't wait for someone to let me know lol

Some of those SGI machines are really strange about nvram as well. My O2 will not boot if the battery has died as it's unable to detect scrambled nvram and wipe it.

Not sure if the Indy is the same, but if it is, there's a "recovery" jumper on the board which you'll need to set or it won't even complete POST. I thought my O2 was toast but nope...just scrambled nvram.

You will need an EPROM programmer to dump those chips.

I'll look into it later, or perhaps someone else could do it if i mailed it to them. If its important enough.

So I have 5 power mac 7xxxs to go through still, anything decent to find in them possibly?

Then the 3 duo docks, what should I do with those as far as preservation, do they have batteries as well?

Then the 3 SEs and the model 0001 which is called what?

After that I think im done with the apple stuff and have all the old pc towers to go through and the sparcstations....

Good progress for a couple days though, i think.

Heres the M0001. I have to say its in alot better shape than i thought it was. Its literally mint cosmetically. Even the piece of white cardboard on the back of the board looks new still lol. Is this a 128k mac?

I am however having problems getting it to go back together and i dont want to risk cracking anything...

I'll look into it later, or perhaps someone else could do it if i mailed it to them. If its important enough.

I can do it. I bought a Relatively Universal ROM Programmer a few months ago.

A lot of 128K macs were upgraded to 512Ks. A closer inspection would be required to say for sure if it is a real 128K.

Ill have to do the SEs later as I don't have a long enough driver to get the screws out and cant find an extension. So thats it for today.. I did however get to my other place to take pictures of the monitors
