Mac 512ke auto ejecting

If it's a red label drive, make sure you're using a cable with a yellow stripe. If it's black, then it uses the red stripe cable.

That said, it sounds like you need to adjust the zero track sensor to get the drive to read a disk. When you do this, place something between the drive's board and the chassis, since you'll likely fry the eject motor circuit if the board touches the chassis. BTDT when testing out my old Plus and getting it to read disks.

The red cable worked before this is a 800k drive i just replaced the gear box and the stepper motor from another drive so probably not the cable and is there a certain way to adjust the zero track sensor ive never done that

Stepper motor…you mean the motor that drives the read-write head? Almost certain you probably inadvertently threw the alignment off. Look up Larry Pinas Dead Mac Scrolls online and it has an adjustment procedure.

Yea the head motor idk where i saw someone saying so i figured thats what it was actually called but ill look into this and see how it goes
