I ordered caps online for a Mac quadra , amazon to be exact. I seemed to have gotten 47uf 16v but like miniature lol..will these work with careful soldering or are they just plain wrong??

Check the data sheet in future, their measurements and usually tantalum caps come in "type A, B, C, D" packages of standard dimensions.

Answering your question though, yes, the little ones will work just fine!

As a random note, ordering tantalums off Amazon is a bit of a high-risk way of doing it, given the mystery sourcing involved.

Given that 1. Tantalums have a tendency to go bang when they fail and 2. Tantalums are made from conflict minerals, I'd quite strongly recommend getting a good known brand from an actual electronics supplier to avoid singed eyebrows and bad karma.

Yep, and the common 'good known brand' ones tend to be Kemet or Vishay.
