SE30_Neal
Is if normal for se/30’s to crackle on certain games but not others? Lemmings is fine but duel isn’t as an example. any ideas or could the sound chip be on its way out?
Bolle
It's possible that the timing for sound gets thrown off on anything that's not 68000-based. Should only happen on some really old games though. I have never seen an ASC die in an SE/30 yet but I had two with crackling sound where the crystal right next to the sound chip was on its way out. But if that would be the issue you should have crackling no matter what software the sound is coming from.
SE30_Neal
Thanks Bolle, it is odd just a few games that cause it. neal
Bolle
Got any more examples of games that produce crackling? Also what system software are you running? Can try out a few games later on to see how they behave on a SE/30.
