Macmaster
Dear 68KMLA users, First time poster, long time lurker (10 yrs). i have a original orange iBook g3 clamshell computer that used to boot to Mac OS 8.6 just fine, yesterday I found out that there is a firmware update available. I did the update and it broke the Mac OS 8.6 compatibility. whenever I boot to 8.6 it just shuts down right when the desktop loads, even when I boot from the original restore disk witch worked just fine before the update. mac OS 9 has no trouble booting... anyone know how to downgrade the firmware? Thanks! T
IlikeTech
You probably can't, sadly.
MrGasS27
Unfortunately you can't downgrade the firmware, put OS 9.2.2 which is more stable than 8.
Bolle
You can desolder the flash chip and put on the old firmware manually... if anyone out there has an image of the old firmware version that is.
