So, I finally got System 8.5.1 installed on my LC575.

For the life of me, I can't get networking to work. DHCP is not pulling an address.

I'm using the Farrallon NuBus Ethernet card. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111792358051?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true

The drivers seem fine. It passes tests. I'm seeing lights on the 10/100/1000 switch and on the card.

Any ideas? Thanks!

The switch may not be playing nice with the card. A lot of these older cards will only run at 10 BASE-T, so in instances where your supporting hardware isn't connecting; that's usually the issue. You can mitigate the problem by installing a throttling network appliance inline between the card and other hardware.

I used one of those old Linksys WRT54G routers with DD-WRT, works like a charm. You can also try to find an older switch/hub rated for the slow speed.

I've always had bad luck with dhcp, with anything under 9.1. Even using a 10/100 base-t switch. For anything under 9.1 I just manually configure the IP address. Unless you are committed to DHCP for some reason, can you just manually configure? It might be that easy (and that cheap), just to get it working for you.
