Hello, I have recently acquired a PDS to NuBus adapter (Apple part 820-0305-01) for my Mac IIsi. With the Nubus adapter successfully installed, Iām looking for an Ethernet card. Are regular NuBus Ethernet cards compatible, or are there any special requirements for a IIsi? For example, the Asante MacCon3 NB seems to be relatively common, but doesnāt list IIsi as compatible on the box. Iām hoping this is just because a PDS to NuBus adapter is required. Assuming the MacCon3 NB is compatible, is any driver required for System 6 or 7? My understanding is the

In the on-going saga of my IIsi refurb, I picked up a new-in-box, still-in-shrink-wrap Asante MacCon MCiNB-10T. It's plugged into the IIsi's Nubus adapter card. No matter what I do, I can't get the link light on the switch to light up. I've tried every switch, new and old. I've tried going directly into other machines where I've set the physical format to 10baseT. Nothing. As for the card, it's green light blinks all the time. It's yellow light will very rarely occasionally blink. I feel like I've got all the software ends chased down. I'm running System 7.5

I scored four NuBus cards in an IIfx, and one of them was the Thunder IV GX 1360! The IIfx was sold as untested, and still, it works like a charm, even with the original 160 MB Seagate! Thank you @Bolle for helping me out identifying the cards!

I bought an IIfx yesterday, probably none-working since the ad stated untested. What caught my interest was the Nubus cards, in this case, four of them. So far I have roughly identified three of them, I think, as one Ultra-wide SCSI controller card and two graphics card, but the fourth one was tricky for me. In my haste, I thought it was a Rocket because of the onboard sim slots and lack of output in the back. What could it be? I have yet to receive the parcel. Thanks!

Hello all, When I bought my Centris 650 a few months back, I also bought an AAUI adapter so I could hook it up to the internet as well as transfer files with my OS 9 machines if I needed to do that. The adpater, which was NIB when I got it, worked fine for a while, but I think there must be a short in the cable that runs from the box to the Mac because the last time I used it I had to bend the adapter's cable and position the box a certain way otherwise I wouldn't get any signal. So I am now debating whether I should buy another adapter box or buy a Nubus card with an RJ45 port o

Hi, Last week I (Dutchman, Amsterdam) bought a Macintosh IIfx from an German auction site. It came with a 'modern' ethernet card: 10/100 Mbit and RJ-45 connector, along with some other cards. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue where to get drivers. AsantƩ drivers won't work, has anyone got a clue where to obtain those? Due to the Radius Rocket 33, I hope these drivers will support System 7.1. Below some detailed photo's of the card and 2 with the card inside the Mac. The ethernet card is the 3rd from the left... Would it matter which slot it resides in? At first, I was

HI All, I have been working to get this machine back online... Today good progress was made getting a SeaSonic PS wired up as the IIci PS was not functioning: The IIci fires up and I have been using the drive that came with the with 7.1 installed. I also got a Radius PrecisionColor 8-Xj video card and Asante ethernet card: With both cards installed and my monitor moved to Radius, I get this on-screen and the machine appears to have booted however I can't access the drive nor is the cursor present. When I move the

One of the projects I have been working on is getting my vintage hardware up and running. Early documentation (before PDFs) is getting much more difficult to find on-line. I am taking the time to archive some of the documentation I have with my hardware in a high-quality format so that a reference is available for future users. The FWB NuBus SCSI Jackhammer manual with high-quality text and graphics is attached it to this thread. FWB_Nubus_Jackhammer_Manual.pdf

I decided to give my Sonnet Sonata 24 Pro a try for the first time today. Stuck it in my Radius 81/110 and it works fine, albeit slow since the drivers are not loaded. Performing heavy searching dug up nothing. The Wayback machine has some files archived but the file size is suspiciously small for a video driver, only 48kb! The actual VillageTronic site is long gone. Sonnet does not host the drivers for this card either. Would anyone happen to have the drivers for this? Thanks!

I had a bit of an impulse buy today. It's been a very, very, very long time since I bought anything 68k Mac related. Browsing eBay I ran into a fairly cheap SuperMac VideoSpigot for $17 with shipping included. I have two different SuperMac Nubus video cards so I thought this would pair well with either of them. The price was certainly right! Old video capture stuff has always interested me even if I don't have any practical use for it. It's just cool. Lately to escape the troubles and trials of life I have been working on my old computers, selling what I do not need and keeping what matter

So, I finally got System 8.5.1 installed on my LC575. For the life of me, I can't get networking to work. DHCP is not pulling an address. I'm using the Farrallon NuBus Ethernet card. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/111792358051?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true The drivers seem fine. It passes tests. I'm seeing lights on the 10/100/1000 switch and on the card. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi, I'm still a newbie with old Macintoshes so bear with me. I'm getting a Centris 650 in the mail in a few days and it comes with two Nubus cards installed. The first is an unknown video card and the second is (I think) a Digidesign Audiomedia card. My questions are: 1) Do Nubus audio and video cards speed up system performance? If so, how much and how can you tell? 2) I'm not doing any audio recording but I will be playing games and multimedia cd-roms. Does the Audiomedia card improve sound for games, or did all 68k-era compatible games just output 8 bit sound natively since most

OK, so I'm stumped on this one. I've tried to look all over here as well as everywhere Bing and Google would show me and they were not taking me to where I needed to go. I have an Apple EtherTalk NB Card running in my 8MB RAM, 80MB HD, 32KB cache card Macintosh IIci and it wants to connect to the network. It can't get a link. It's running System 6.0.8 with Network Software Installer 1.4.5 installed, and MacTCP 2.0.6. I have to give the Comcast DNS servers rather than making the wireless router the DNS server like Open Transport on Mac OS 8.6 and later. I read that sometimes MacTCP need
