Hi all, this is a guide to my personal modifications to the Apple PowerMac G5 Quad rev.2 "dual-pump Delphi", pictured above. I will do my best to be thorough in my descriptions. Sadly I do not have pictures of my process in this version of the guide but I will be repeating this mod on another machine at some point in the next year or so in order to document the process properly and make a better-illustrated guide. In short, my mod involves removing the original DDC pump tops and replacing them with third-party blocks with multiple ports. This facilitates far easier draining and re

I recently got an iBook G4 and when I turned it on a folder with (Classic) Mac OS logo and question mark appeared, it seem like Mac OS X isn't installed. Mac OS X Tiger install CD came with it, unfortunately it was only an upgrade CD but it was useful enough to make sure that the hard drive is alive. So how can I install Mac OS X on this iBook?

Got a nicely kept, 1 owner from new macintosh 6500/275 from eBay locally last weekend. The chap a graphic designer specified it well with internal zip drive, full ram, upgraded hhd, graphics tablet, tv card and a bunch of software like illustrator, photoshop etc all for £65 or approx $90 in us speak. Seems like a good all round bridge machine, even came with a bunch of cables plus keyboard and mouse. Don’t know much about the 6500?

Hello, I own 6 PowerPC Macs in total (see them in my signature), and most of them I've found uses for. G5 is my main Mac, iMac G4 is for music and writing, iBook G4 is laptop, Intel iMac is file server. iBook G3s are collectables. But then I have my Mac mini G4 which is not being put to good use right now. Which is sad, as it's one of my fastest systems. It just sits there, never used. Any ideas for a good use for this guy? Thanks, Henry

Hi Folks! I've finally decided to post details about my "vintage" mac setup on the Internet! I say vintage with quotes, as I don't really know if a 9600 would count as vintage... I also don't know if I'd call it a conquest, it's more a collection I've built up starting around late 90s.. It's a little.... Crazy. But I love it! If I can think of one community that would appreciate these specs, I think this one would be it.. I will try to post pictures later on this week, maybe tomorrow after work! For now, take a peek at this: --- BEGIN SETUP DETAILS --- Base System:

Wondering if I could challenge myself to use only PowerPC for a week? Things I do: Watch YouTube (I'm thinking MacTubes/YouView) Browse the Web Edit video and upload it to YouTube (1080p HD) Could I? If so, what computers (PowerBook G4 might be good)

Flash versions have been growing like crazy lately. It seems that the modified Flash version which gave PowerPC users some respite is now too old for certain sites. I've updated the Flash plugin to report itself as version 16.1.102.64. This, I hope, should last a few months. Get it here: http://www.klos.com/~john/flashppc.zip Flash is pretty insecure. I'm not sure whether there are workable exploits, but to be on the safe side, I highly recommend ClickToPlugin, which keeps all plugins from loading until you click on the item on a web page which is requiring that plugin. It has a ni
