  1. Thanks all for the replies! I had an experience (15 years ago) for coding gouraud shaded 3d engine for Amiga AGA with 030 and 060 processors. Yes, I did it on a similar way - drafting algos on C and optimizing that on 68k asm. Does anybody knows if Think C supports 020-030 opcodes in its assembler compiler?
  2. My target is to try to code a simple 3D-engine with C-code framework, but all math routines should be written on 68k-asm.
  3. As I read, Think C doesn't has a full assembler compiler. It is only supports an inline "asm" inserts in C code. Retro68 is a very interesting project. But I am a newbie at 68k Mac development, so I cannot understand how to use (and where to get) classic Mac OS C-headers and libraries (object files?)
  4. Does anyone knows a good assembler (with 020-030 support) and C compiler for classic Mac OS? I want to code at both languages simultaneously.
  5. Good idea. I will check this tomorrow
  6. Today I checked all lines that going to FDD connector on PCB. I used a scans of official Apple schematics. No one of the lines are damaged. I also removed a bourn filter from PCB. But still my SE/30 can't format 1.4 and 800k floppies...
  7. Same problem, very strange situation with SE/30...
  8. Today I recapped a motherboard of my SE/30 - computer started working better, now I can hear a sound from a speaker But FDD still can't work with 1.4 diskettes...
  9. So the only solution will be the motherboard replacement?
  10. Hi all. Recenlty my FDD stopped being able to format 1.4 floppies. But 800kb formatted perfectly. I tried to: replace FDD from my Classic II replace FDD cable clear small puddles of electrolyte around capacitors on motherboard Computer correctly determines the type of diskette, so sensor working correctly. After formatting of 1.4 diskettes Mac OS show message about defective diskette, but another computer formatting it without any problem.
  11. I opened Mac today and saw a leaked electrolytic glue around the capacitors. So I will try to clean motherboard by first.
  12. Yes, because: 1) it worked perfectly before 2) Mac OS show this floppy by using "PC" icon
  13. Hi. Around one month ago SE/30 worked perfectly. Two weeks ago I purchased some floppies with old software at ebay. I tried to copy/install software from they but all of them contains disk errors. Afters this I tried to copy files from my MacBook Pro to SE/30 via USB FDD. MacBook formatted and recorded floppies without any problem (FAT12), but when I tried to read them on SE/30 I got a disk errors. Today I repeated this and SE/30 shows that floppy disk has 500 kb free - that is right, because I writed almost 1 mb on it. But there is no files on the disk! Should I replace FD
  14. Does SE/30 has enough speed and performance to operate with up to 16 MIDI channels while playing/recording of complex melodies? Are there anyone who tried to use SE/30 in studio in the past? "But Serial MIDI boxes were available back in the day" - I found a lot of cheap and cool Opcode Studio rack MIDI interfaces at ebay I also want to try to execute Akai MESA software on this computer.
  15. Hi all. I'm collecting old rack synthesizers, samplers and so on. Is it possible to control all of them simultaneously from some kind of MIDI sequencing software? As I know Atari ST had Steinberg Cubase which allows to record and playback a lot of MIDI-tracks. Could I use my SE/30 for making a music on my home retro-studio? Thanks.
