Does anyone know where I can get an SE/30 board repaired in the US? I did a bad recap job, otherwise board is pretty clean. No video, need the whole board gone over by a pro.

    LC575 Repair?

Anyone know a good shop or someone that can repair a LC575 board? I bought a Performa LC575, it did not survive shipping, but the logic board seems to be ok except one spot of corrosion and a missing cap or resistor (see pics). I plan to put this in my CC. Its a hard to find board id like to put it in the hands of an expert, unless someone thinks this is something I could do myself, I am ok with an iron... Would need to know what i need to replace. Thank you!

    LC575 Repair?

Anyone have a LC575? I need to find out what is missing at L4 and C23. See the attached pic, thanks!
  5. I bought this a Performa LC575 that was sold online and mislabeled as a mac monitor, obviously by someone that didn't know what they were selling. I have a Color Classic that ive been wanting to do the Mystic upgrade to. I need to figure out what I need to do to the LC575 before i attempt to do anything as it was sold untested. I got it for a bit over $200 with shipping, it arrives tomorrow. I am pretty excited.

Finally found a Performa LC575 for my CC

So the 575 arrived this morning. You were right, it was completely smashed up! The logic board looks to be in one piece but has some corrosion that I will need to figure out how to fix. Here are some pics for fun, I will try to salvage as many parts as I can. The screen somehow looks ok, has a hard disk, CD, and floppy. I knew this was likely and I will work to get money back from the vendor. The packaging job they did was a joke, but I know these plastics are brittle after all these years. Where is the appropriate place to post here about an LC575 logic board? Thanks everyone!

    SE/30 repair help

Update: With the SE logic board in the SE/30 the monitor springs to life. So it is indeed the SE/30 logic board that is the problem. I was not expecting that, i literally sensed no activity from the screen or glow in the neck. Maybe i didn't wait long enough for the glow... The Samsung monitor from the SE is MUCH brighter even when the brightness wheel is all the way up on the Clinton monitor./ The Samsung internally looks newer and cleaner. I swapped that into my SE/30. The SE/30 logic board will be repaired and all should be well. Thank you so much for your help today!

    SE/30 repair help

Can anyone tell me if the screen on an SE or SE/30 will do anything with a bad logic board? I am trying to restore an SE/30 that had a bad PSU and possibly more, when i got it it was dead. I recapped the logic board and analog board and got a new known working PSU from an SE dual drive. Hard drive spins up Monitor does nothing just black, Even when adjusting the brightness wheel. To troubleshoot i put the working PSU back on the SE Analog board. I know the SE gets screen and boots although with vertical lines. Is the SE/30 screen dead? Thinking back i should have just put the se/30 logic board in the SE to test it... How does an SE Monitor act with a dead logic board, is it just black with zero activity or does the screen glow at all? Edit, i do not get a chime on the SE/30. Thank you sorry for the lengthy explanation!

    SE/30 repair help

Can I take the samsung screen from the SE along with the analog board and move it to the SE/30? The screen in the SE/30 right now is a Clinton.

    SE/30 repair help

So then by swapping the analog board and PSU from the SE I know its not the flyback, analog board, or PSU because i get the below screen on the SE. So could it be the video board that plugs into the back of the yoke or the screen/tube its-self? I guess I should put everything back in the SE and put the SE/30 board in to see what happens. I am not the best a soldering so I am going to end up sending this se/30 logic board somewhere to get cleaned up properly.

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

I picked up this SE today for $30. Owner said he had not tested it had no plans for it. But it had a black power switch, it powers up and attempts to boot so at least i can use it to work on my SE/30 while I work on getting an additional PSU. I have the Sony cap kit so I will do that immediately. Look forward on finding a quality ATX solution with you all.

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

Going to see about an SE dual floppy tomorrow. I hope it has a Sony PSU inside, i'll use the cap kit on it and hope i can get a ATX solution for it sometime down the road. It's only 30 bucks, id buy it even if it didn't so its worth a shot.

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

Size could be a factor, i think i would replace any fan with a noctua fan, which are usually extremely silent.

This could be the ticket right here. https://www.amazon.com/Replace-Power®-Replacement-5188-7520-5188-7521/dp/B00F0ZPXU2/ref=sxbs_sxwds-stvp?cv_ct_cx=micro+atx+psu&keywords=micro+atx+psu&pd_rd_i=B00F0ZPXU2&pd_rd_r=12a1c75b-0a9b-4db1-a125-16d1a17bd29e&pd_rd_w=2UKpb&pd_rd_wg=k9e0r&pf_rd_p=a6d018ad-f20b-46c9-8920-433972c7d9b7&pf_rd_r=XNYBZ9YHX9AVXMFMGN96&psc=1&qid=1585010031&s=electronics&sr=1-1-dd5817a1-1ba7-46c2-8996-f96e7b0f409c

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

Sorry for all of the posts, but I have been thinking about this issue with sourcing a PSU for the SE line, and thought of something. I was thinking about other devices that I have used that would likely have a small form factor PSU inside in the range we need. I thought the original xbox might be worth looking at, they made ALOT of them and that machine likely uses an ATX PSU but it is only a 98w psu. Working with that idea in mind I was looking at the Playstation 3 PSU fat and slim models, as well as the Playstation 4 and Xbox One console PSUs These parts are very cheap and readily available. Here is the wiki which shows all Playstation 3 PSU specs. https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/Power_Supply#Power_Supply_Unit_.28PSU.29 Also there are a number of mini-itx power supplies out there as well. What should I be looking for besides at least 250w with a 12v and 5v rail?

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

Would these work? Ship from the USA https://www.ebay.com/itm/AcBel-FSB009-250W-80-BRONZE-FlexATX-SWITCHING-POWER-SUPPLY-MINI-ATX-DESKTOP-PSU/173436986691?hash=item2861a66543:g:w7UAAOSwkeBbXL1Y https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Flex-ATX-1U-320w-power-supply-PSU-Mini-ITX-SFF-and-rackmount-servers-CN32/400561438327?hash=item5d43527e77:g:P~QAAOSw-3FZNyvw Also these pico PSUs are interesting as well. But they would have to use an external power brick. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ATX-200W-Pico-ITX-HTPC-Computer-Mainframe-MINI-ATX-Power-Supply-24PIN-GPU-DC-12V/252504381069?hash=item3aca6f168d:g:0rMAAOSwU-pXtV7r

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

I think im going to try to get an SE with a Sony PSU since I already have the cap kit and back burner the ATX until a source becomes available. I have a feeling ordering a PSU from china right now is going to take a long time.

Back to square one looking for a PSU. That ithardwarehub cancled my order, said the PSU was broken then raised the prices to $250. Avoid! I am considering my options now and just getting one off ebay...

SE/30 Power Supply: Recap or ATX?

I have the same PSU as iamroot. I ordered my cap kit from console5 as well (sony) and I am weighing my option on wether or not to recap it or install a modern psu. The seasonic ive seen posted in here is really expensive... I have the desire to put in an ethernet card and grayscale card at some point also, so the modern psu might be a better choice. Question is, I have some really nice ATX power supplies laying about, it would be nice to be able to use one of them, but I am nervous about frying this machine as I have wanted an SE/30 for a long time and finally was able to pick one up for a good price. I just recapped the logic board and analog board, but I wasn't expecting the PSU to be different. I am new to the community thanks for having me!
