Maybe we can use this forum (and all the foums really) to help create content, by submitting all we know about a certain <something> and then giving it to someone to edit, and get put on the site.

So, in that vein, I'm starting this thread, since I figured out something about my QuickTake100:

It's not a QuickTake 100.. It has a sticker that says "QuickTake 100 Plus"... meaning it's actually a QT 150, and doesn;t work with the 100 drivers I downloaded and tried to use with it.

Apple had an upgrade programme, that switched out the 100's circuit board, and replaced it with a 150's, and gave you the Closeup lens. (I have one lens, and I had a battery pack, but I've traded that to Cinemo, since I didn;t have much need for it)

What stuff do YOU know about the QuickTakes?

I know that my QT150 creates pict files that nothing with a recent version of quicktime will read!

opening one in photoshop on a OSX iMac 400 with 768Mb of ram gives....

"Out of memory"

ha!

sorry. just venting. the same photoshop on a way earlier quicktime loads it just fine :D

I have the drivers for the 150, and I'll install them tonight. (they are availabe at the driver museum)

Good info Dana! So QuickTake photos have problems with newer versions of QuickTime... hmmm...

I guess my QT 3.0 Pro on an 8100 will work fine then ;-)

Prolly ;). PS 5.5 on the imac hates them, but the same PS on a 6300/8.6/8.6 default quicktime works fine.

Now I remember something I should have done a while back - script photoshop to convert all the pics to tiff or psd... that'd be useful...
