TITO, get yourself an external SCSI drive and powerbook cable and do an install "for any macintosh" on it for your troubleshooting! use an old pc case and psu if you have to, that way you could even install a CD-ROM in the same box and your 68k experience would be a lot easier.jt

Opening up the powerbook and disconnecting the video cable from the mobo to the LCD panel should force it to make any external monitor the main one.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit 68k Macintosh Liberation Army 00014 Macs liberated. |

Exactly. I remember a couple of years ago, a guy asked Australian MacWorld how to use an external monitor as the only monitor with a broken PB screen, so he could do his presentation before getting a new screen, and MW told him to go to this site which tells you how to pull the plug on the internal. -------------------------- Pizzabox LCs RULE!!!!!!! no need. the 500 series and the 165 are completely different beasts, which use different video cables, in different places. If you want to do this, get the service manual off the hotline server, or ask me. quote: heh!
