Today I scored an original Atari 2600! All this classic Mac fever spread, and I just had to have one.Included 4 joysticks, 2 paddles and 10 games...but lacks the power supply. I WANT MORE! Anybody got any vintage Atari gear you wanna get rid of? I will pay money! ------------------ MacMoose Medical Spec., 68k MLA Total 68K Macs liberated: 9 and counting ------------------

The lacking power supply seems to be a common problem. I have an Atari 5200 and a rare 7800 that are both missing the PSU's, and are thus useless. My Intellivision, luckily, has a built-in power cord, and I still play it often! Nothing like a little Armor Battle to relax those weary bones after a hard day...who else has vintage Video Games in their posession?666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |

I was given a vectrex about 8 years ago, which worked ok, even if the controllers felt like you needed arnie-muscles to move them. ugh. Then I broke it not much later, when I opened it. oops. dana

Wow, I've never ever seen a Vectrex, but here's a good site about them. Hey, I might as well list all my game systems! Here goes:Intellivision Master Console Atari 5200 - no PSU Atari 7800 - no psu Original NES - with a newly machined, nickel-free 72-pin connector (also, in the process of being hacked into a new case) Super NES - with a SuperFamicom converter Yeah, that's it. I used to have a Sega Genesis with a Sega CD, but my brother took it with him when he moved to Seattle. I'm also thinking about getting a GameCube, though. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear!

I collect and sell NES and SNES stuff all the time. I originally collected these as an adjunct to a video game distributorship I had in the eighties. The arcades went the way of the dodo, but of course the home games did not. Recently you could buy a Sega Dreamcast for almost nothing which was kind of shocking since these were $300 retail about two years ago. But Sega got out of the game hardware business and stayed with making software. Collecting is hard sometimes. I once got a mint 2600 only to sell it to someone a week later....two weeks later I scored about 40 games for it but I of course had sold the machine. Note to self don't show ppl my collection, it always seems to upset the "karma" of it. I have been on the hunt for an Atari 800, the old model for some time. It was an underappreciated 8 bit machine. I do maintain an Apple machine for each type, Apple II, Mac II, LC, Quadra, etc. I have an over abundance of LCs...too much dumpster diving.

I have an Atari 800, two Atari 800XL's, a Tandy 64K, a Sega Genisis, a Nintendo, and a TI99/4A that fall into the vintage game console catagory. The Ataris were by far the most used of them, I used to write school papers on them with the Atariwriter cartrige.I actually have 53 computers, there is a list of all of them herehttp://www.angelfire.com/geek/vecon/syn/complist.html AnubisTTP 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Macs Liberated:15 |

The oldest video game systems I have are a Game Boy Pocket and a Super Nintendo. I would like to get an NES to tinker around with, though.Wonko The Sane Engineer-in-training 3 Macs Liberated "You can't possibly be a scientist if you mind people thinking that you're a fool."- Wonko The Sane |

I remember playing "Alex Kidd" (or was it Alexx Kid?) on one of those... I'm surprised no one here has a Neo Geo or a Turbo Grafx-16? I used to know a guy who had both, back around 1991. I remember playing Bonk's Adventure and Splatterhouse on the Turbo-Grafx for endless hours. The Neo Geo was high-end, though. I still don't know where he got the funds for it (well, he was Columbian and living in Miami, so you might be able to guess), but that system rocked hardcore. 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |

Excellent find man. Be warned, its gets addictive. I've got over 360 different VCS carts now, not to mention a multitude of hardware from the Vectrex to the Colecovision :-) You can get a compatible power supply for the 2600 at Radio Shack. Check the Atari 2600 FAQ at www.atariage.com for power details. Cheers Jobf

Hmm...couldn't you find out the voltage of the machines and funky-power-pinouts and make your own PSU? Or is this more difficult than it sounds?
