Ok, first of all, Im willing to pay at most, $10 for a middle of the road ( about 80mb?) drive. However, Im willing to go over that, since I really need them. What I need them for is my powerbooks: I would like 2 SCSI drives 1 IDE drive Size isnt important, even 20 mb would be good Ive got 1 week of spring break left, and tonight im going to totally analyze the condition of the pb's. Ill include a later post of other problemsAlso, ANY POWERBOOK STUFF!!!! Just post it, Ill look! I really would like to fix these macs, cuz otherwise i gotta give them back to school, and they will throw them away, and I wont be able to recover them Tito Tito Macs Liberated: Powerbook 145 Powerbok 150 Powerbook 160 Apple \\c (now dead) |

Ok, as promised, to all my loyal fans, I will tell ya whats up with the powerbooks Ive tested the 150 The 150- "Big Screen": turns on, nothing spins, cannot change contrast. when i subbed in the screen from the 145, it chimed, nothing spun, contrast cannot change. i dont have an ide hd for it, so it probably shouldnt work. once i get a hd, i will try againTito Tito Macs Liberated: Powerbook 145 Powerbok 150 Powerbook 160 Apple \\c (now dead) |

Ok, WE CAN FIX IT!!!! I love that ad in the back of MA andably Macworld that has those serious looking guys with the hard drive in their clumsy human hands. Ill post this in Help too Anyway, the only problem with these powerbooks seems to be PB 160 with 160 monitor- second 1- the computer turns on second 4-6 the display turns on without picture second 10-14- the display turns off solution: buy the monitor adapter and attatch an external monitor i confirmed the system actually boots, because it 'bings' when the finder is loaded. FIXABLE! ||||Powerbook 150 with 150 monitor- backlight comes on, stays on....No hard drive , and im not sure the floppy works, so i cant be sure of anything. |||||Powerbook 150 with 145 monitor- CHIME!!! and then backlight comes on, stays on....No hard drive, and im not sure the floppy works, so i cant be sure of anything |||||solution- buy IDE hds? get new LED-mobo connector? FIXABLE???? Powerbook 145 with 145 monitor- CHIME ....backlight....no hd, no floppy, so cant be sure Powerbook 145 with 150 monitor- NOTHING FIXABLE??? Thanks....if anyone has any spare pb parts or anything, post!!!! or, if anyone wants to buy em./........ Tito Macs Liberated: Powerbook 145 Powerbok 150 Powerbook 160 Apple \\c (now dead)

sweet Yea, being a 68ker in hawaii is pretty tough, shipping is outrageous for pretty much anything.I WISH I COULD GET THESE TO WORK!!! THEN I COULD BUY SO MUCH STUFF LIKE ZIP DRIVES,JAZ but hope is on the horizon. there is a lc475 stuffed under a desk in the computer lab, that is thickly covered in dust. it looks to have everything, i might just 'explain' to the teacher that gave me the 145 and 150 that I need the lc too so i can get them all to work!!! :) PS: is there any way to run 2 computers off one monitor without much trouble?? Titoitoitoito i looooooove 68ks!!!!! |

The question is better off being asked in balloon help, but you ever need to get a DB-15 switch box (not common, probably) or a VGA switch box and adaptor cables for the Macs and the screen.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit 68k Macintosh Liberation Army 00014 Macs liberated. |

adapters and cables are expensive, if you have a macwarehouse catalog they have a mechanical ADB KVM Switch that i have used for quite a while and am VERY pleased with, (and i can be VERY picky) it's about $60 and will allow three macs to be hooked up at once and used at the twist of the dial. jt ™
