well, I've already asked this before, but *someone* deleted the thread... ;|

anyway, what I would like to see is a small webspace, maybe on 68kmla.com? where you can store your stuff. Doesnät have to be large, but all ffree web space companies I've tried are BS.

Can *anyone* store some pics for me, *anywhere*?

I agree - it would be nice to have some space where we could all store stuff. Not just pictures, but software - particularly utilities. On the flip side though, it would be hard to manage. Think about it, opening up FTP for 'however many members there are of MLA' is just asking for trouble.

Dude, just sign up for iTools and you get a FREE 20mb iDisk. It's that easy!

If you have acess to a Mac OS 9 Mac, you can register for iTools...then you can acess the iDisk itself from a PC...I do remember Apple was touting that a little while ago...

When you setup an iTools account, you're given a 20MB virtual "disk drive" that can be mounted on your desktop (for a given amount of time) and used to drag-and-drop files. It a whole lot easier to use for newbies than FTP!

that explains a LOT! *screams in frustration* pretend i don't know squat about this stuff and try it again, if you don't mind! "iTools account" might be a good place to start.

jt <insert rolling eye emoticon from MAF>

p.s. virtual disk, i grok, where does this and FTP fit in with hosting scenario?

Go to Apple's site and hit the iTools tab, JT! I'd give you the direct link, but I'm a PC and it redirects you.

thanks, i'm copying some of the pics of my hack to an iDisk right now. i thought it was an apple thing, but the thread didn't specifically offer the info you just gave me!

but i'm a little slow at times, according to the kid.

I knew you were a tech-dino, jt, but I thought you kept up with steve-o's keynote announcements (this was from about a year and a half ago...)!
