Can I use my "Commodore 1084s-P1" monitor with my quadra 840av?

I believe the monitor is vga.It has the following connections:-

Audio sockets(2 one left one right)female

Chroma (is a socket the same as audio(ie:-audio plug would insert))female

CVBS/L (is a socket the same as audio(ie:-audio plug would insert))female

rgb (9 pin 5 above 4 below) socket female

a power socket yes female

and a headphone socket on the side yes female.

Well, aside from all the audio (and possibly composite video) connections you've got. I'd say that your monitor is either EGA or CGA - which means that it is not capable of very high resolutions at all.

RGB is a generic term, meaning that the device (monitor) accepts red, green and blue signals plus some kind of sync signal. For example RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB...etc

I've got the same monitor... or at least similar... the 1084s. Picked it up with my //e. So far I haven't found a way to hook it up to a mac - not that I've been trying that hard.

Given its age, I've been assuming that even if I could get it up and running, the resolution would unusably low. For example, HGR mode on the //e was a massive 280x192. Not much good for displaying for those 128x128 OSX icons!

Current score:

1 Apple //e
1 PB 520c
1 Quadra 700
1 Quadra 800 (recently resurrected!)
2 Powermac 6100s
1 Wallstreet
