...that's all the info I have about it, I assume it is the one that came with the original Mac II (it's Apple branded.) So, what does this puppy do?

I assume you want a more detailed answer than "drives video for the Mac II, since it had not onboard video" ...

"The card is unaccelerated. With an optional RAM upgrade (requires eight 120ns DIP chips), it supports 640x480 in 8-bit color. Without the RAM, it supports 640x480 in 4-bit color. It will not drive the Apple 12" RGB or 12" Monochrome displays."

Damn, I just paid for a dud, it seems, unless it can do 8 bit color...
I sure hope it has that RAM upgrade!

Well, it is the 4 bit version. Anyone know where I can get some of those itty-bitty IC RAM?

DIP! the RAM, not fw . . ? . . well mayb . . . .

anyhoo! Dual Inline Package, look it up at jameco or other ic vendor. my card has 8 chips soldered and 8 more socketed, if my guess is right, it's DRAM and you'll probably be able to pull it off an old 286 mobo, but you're gonna have to do a little research or fork over ar least a couple of bucks for that crap. (and don't drop a chip and step on it in bare feet!)

I found out Jaycar has something which may be it, but they're more than $3 each, and you need 8 of them... that equals more than I paid for it in the first place!

Does it say "Macintosh II Display Card" or "Macintosh Display Card"....they are significantly different cards (I have a Toby and 3 of the "Macintosh Display Cards")

My card IS a Toby, and I said that the 'linear IC' DIP RAM from Jaycar could be the right stuff... perhaps not!

Ah well, it would have cost too much anyway, I just got a new card for AUS$9, including shipping!

watch for one of those IBM boards to strip! it's probably common to find those chips socketed.

when I get home tonight to pick up some stuff, I'll check on one old Toby card I have that no longer drives video properly. Everything is pink :-)

But I think it has the upgrade on it, in which case I think I could send you the card to rip the ICs off for little or nothing.
