isn't all that info already available when you click on a user id or the members list? this thread might still be a good idea anyway, but i personally prefer open posting back and forth to allow for others to join into the discussions (much to fw's chagrin) if comrades are IMing instead of posting it would seem counterproductive in terms of community building. anything personal is fine for IM and email, but IMHO, open participation and public dialogue is much preferable and cliquish activities should be avoided as much as possible.

any thoughts either way, comrades?

yeah, as i have stated before, i am a dinosaur and cannot deal with real-time .txt interactions. i do not im or chat and my email address is available and i sometimes even check it! i have enough trouble chatting on a freakin' telephone!

Yeah...if a person wanted their ICQ/AIM/Yahoo numbers/screen names to be publically available to the people on these forums, he/she would've entered it when he/she registered

Otherwise, that person a) Is a tech-dinosaur or b) doesn't want to chat with 68K MLA people
