I believe you are searching for 8.0, as no newer versions of the MacOS will run on a 68k. I don't think 8.1 will, and I know 9.anything will not.

I think he needs 9.x for the 4400. Just about everything up to 8.1 is on our hotline server, I'm sure you can find everything above that on other hotline servers...unless someone can find the time to upload the installer. Well, guess I could, but not anytime soon.

I don't know about other hotline servers... There are very few with actual good content... no matter what I search for using tracker-tracker, I keep finding some of the more bizzarre and repulsive pornography...

The 8.1 install that's on our HL server isn't a full-install.

It has installer scripts for every Mac that can support 8.1 (iMac, PowerMac, 'Book...etc) in addition to the legacy PPCs and 68Ks. But for some reason it doesn't have all of the indiviual software installers (can't remember specific names at present, but they're all not there). You can install and be able to use it fine, but it isn't a 100% full install

I know because I downloaded that same "multi-install" from a different HL server last summer

just to let you know...

edit: (just search for 9 on tracker-tracker.com - I'm sure billions of servers have it)

Hey Tallgeese download iSwipe, its a application that search EVERY hotline server, carracho, gnutella, and napster server so no mistake porn. I use it and it is better cause tracker tracker only searchs servers that are listed on their directory, its a great application but comes with a 30 day limit, set your clock back and watch that timer go up, my clock is at '92 and i have over 16550 days left to use it just search google for iSwipe, its a great app.

Umm...aren't we meant to be discussing old Macs, rather than how to pirate Apple software? raWr, i understand your need for the OSes, seeing as though you probably bought legit copies of the software, but lost them, but for anyone else, you should just go out and buy legit copies of the software, rather than getting it off a Hotline server. Like sure, i may pirate software simply because i can't afford it (800 bucks for a productivity suite? Get real!), but i don't go and tell the world and make myself out to be unethical, and doing an illegal a activity.

sorry guys, i'm just trying to keep us outta trouble!

hey, nice to see somebody else in alarmist mode for a change!

evaluate, then buy, if you need something for your 68k's buy a licensed copy for your PPC box and download all the 68k upgrades you need! *see footnote

. . . . and pay your freakin' shareware fees if you wanna see more good stuff! i don't know about mpegdec, cus i haven't looked, but people like our comrade markymark deserve the show of respect and appreciation (monetary considerations are cool too) that receipt of a shareware fee signifies! IMNHwhatsoever-on-this-issueO. which reminds me . . . . i gotta write a check for graphicconverter, that's one bad@SS app and it's becoming a regular utility for me even though a licensed copy of a competing product came with my eyemodule!

sorry, i got just a little carried away again.

*unless you need a copy of some mordorsoft dreck to convert files into something a real program can deal with, that theif deserves squat for intentionally inducing incompatibilities, just use clarisworks for the real work and MSCrud for translations when you have no other choice!
