It's no fun modding a forum if you can't help people out! But then again, the majority of the members can be classified as "skilled" or "advanced" 68k mac users...

we need a major Advertiseing campaign!

If we can get some more content for the website, maybe we can get MacAddict to talk about us!

Hey, I have an idea. I can make up some flyers with the website's URL and post them in places where there might be 68k mac users...like CalArts and other schools around here, maybe even the thrift shop that I go to all the time that usually sells 68k's. The URL is a little long to memorize, though. I guess it could be like those flyers with the person's number at the bottom on little tabs, so they could tear it off for later.

Whadda ya think?

Here, I made a quick flyer in Photoshop, let me know what you think. If everybody likes it, feel free to print it out and post it wherever you think 68k users hang out.

Not bad, but...
1) the title typeface is hard to read
2) not everybody understands '68k mac' maybe "vintage" or "pre-PowerPC" might be better to snag a broader audience

Ok, good to know. I was going to put something about what a 68k mac is, but I figured that would be too involved for a flyer. Well hold on a minute and I'll post a new version...

Allright, now print it out and tape it up at your local Starphucks.

P.S. - Kudos to whoever can identify each of the 68k's I put on the flyer in the least amount of time!

sadly, i can only identify the IIci and Q840AV. PowerBooks look the same to me, and I am unfamiliar with the difference between Classic, Color Classic, etc.

And also, unfortunately, your directive would require me to actually walk into a 'Starphucks' which I have studiously avoided.

Well, you got two out of five so far. Anybody else wanna give it a shot?

I know, I'm just kidding. Nobody in Starbucks would know or care about a 68k mac anyway! A student-run college campus coffee shop would be good, though.

dude thats a Power Mac 8x00 series under the forums logo (not a Quadra 8xx) As you can see, right under that blank drive bay, is "PowerPC". Somebody is terribly mistaken.

otherwise
ColorClassic, PowerBook 540c, PowerBook 100, IIci

i win.

I assumed that there was an error, or a smudge, because a Power Mac 8x00 would never be on a vintage mac flyer...

Good work, Firewire, 100% right! Yep, that one at the bottom is an 8100. The site I got it from labelled it as an 840av, but the "PowerPC" logo is all-too visible.

You get a kudos bar!

P.S. - Now I have a find a REAL pic of an 840av to put on the flyer!

Thanks sosumi, but I already "fixed" it by rubbing out the PPC logo. I keep thinking you're sosumi from the MAF...
