From RasterOps, an ADB TV Tuner.

It's about 8 inches long and 4 inches wide, and has a 75ohm coax connection, composite video and audio in/out, and ADB (2 I think, it;s not here with me)

I wouldn't try to plug a mouse into those 'ADB' ports coz most likely they are S-Video input/output.

Well, I looked at it. The Ports are all marked:

2xADB
Audio in/out
Composite video in/out
VHF
UHF

Hmm... wish I could find out SOMETHING about this.

I know this is a dumb question, but have you tried going to RasterOps's site, or trying the Mac Driver Museum for drivers?

i poked around with google, truevision and pinnacle seem to be names for the same company. is this a breakout box or a card? they did titling solutions which may be the reason for the adb ports.

Hmm... a breakout box.

That might explain it a little...

It's not a card, but an external, beige plastic enclosure.

As soon as I get the chance, I'll try powering it up (assuemgin I can figure out the right power needs) and send the video out to my VCR/TV, and hook up a keyboard, to see what can be seen.

sounds like a titling rig to daisy chain between the keyboard and the mac, maybe it will work without software support and a cpu on come very basic default level, possibly daisy chained between vcr and tv and used for text in presentations.

CAUTION: all of the above is speculation based upon little more than no knowledge whatsoever regarding this specific area of i/o.

i'd google for product name associations using parameters based on that kind of application, but my attention span guage just hit empty. if you come up with anything else interesting, i'll probably jump back into this one.

p.s. did that file that i stuffed your mailbox with download successfully?
