but my imac's keyboard just died, so now i'm using key caps as my keyboard until i can get a replacement, and unfortunately you can't use modifier keys in key caps. so if you're iming me and i seem a bit slow, thats y.-------------------------- Pizzabox LCs RULE!!!!!!! Warrior maclover5

if it gets to the point that you really NEED to use a modifier key for something, turn on the extension/control panel (whatever) for the handicapped that enables keystrokes/modifiers to be entered sequentially. might be easy acces, don't remember anything but that it was a good one to clean out of the system folder, might be a good time to put it back.don't bother to answer! jt

happened to my friend's imac constantly, he thought the machine was freezing, but i figured out that the usb was wigging out and that unplugging and replugging the kbd would fix it, but eventually they put in a new power supply.jt
