In the same vein as ~Coxy's query about hubs n the like... Any other australian types here find that getting mac monitors isn't so easy? My machines outnumber my monitors about 5:1, and it's a pain. Not only that, but most of the monitors I do have are M1212 trinitrons - 640x480 and no more. wau!. While they're a gorgeous display, the resolution is just too danged small, especially after using the 950 FS on a NEC Multisync I have. I'd prefer to have Apple monitors - that's the mad collector in me coming out =). Perhaps a couple of 17" trinitrons... a few 15" ones for at least 800x600...

Yes, I have 17 machines, and 5 monitors... (this count includes AIOs and PBs). I have a computer that can do huge resolutions (950) and nothing to display it on! Bah, humbug!

Yeah i know what you mean. In my puny bedroom (i need to upgrade..trust me), i have 4 Macs (my LCII, LCIII, LC475 and 630), which all share my 14" Macintosh Colour Display. Geez it makes me angry when i read about how the LC475 can support resolutions up to 1152x864...

On the other hand...

When the thing finally gives up the ghost, I am going to try and get my hands on an AppleVision 1710AV to replace it, as well as an extra 512k VRAM stick for my 475. I love my 14" Colour Display, especially now that i have it calibrated properly with ColourSync. I just wish it could support higher resolutions.

Remember my pics? No doubt if you drop MRI a line they'll let you know if they have any in stock. Don't forget my Mac page has lots of .com.au links....Microseconds is good too.

Umm i guess, seeing as though we have one "big" 68k dealer around where i live, and they have no clue as to where to get an extra 512k stick!

You know, one thing I thought of would be to buy a pallet of monitors at auction. Sure, it's a high initial outlay but the cost per unit isn't all that much. You see the computer resellers buy them, they probably mark them up 200%...

(interesting, the profit margins on discontinued goods are higher than for current models!)

That does sound a bit worth it - where do these auctions happen, btw? I imagine they're more a city thing than a out-here-in-feral-town thing...

DAMN!!!!

Oh well, go out, and get yourself a nice AppleVision 1710AV. You'll never regret it.
