Just curious, but what do you folks think would be the ultimate gaming system for 68k Macs? Q950 maxed out on ram with several video cards running 21" monitors for A-10 Attack (or other flight sims)? Color Classic (with full '040 hack) for a semi-portable system? Duo 280 for playing Battle Chess on the road?

Keep in mind that playing games for hours and hours would be this machines sole purpose!

I think a Quadra 950 is the best 68k gaming machine. Using up all those Nubus slots with video cards for multiple monitors/game views is always a good idea!

I doubt many games use more than 3 monitors - F/A-18 Hornet springs to mind. In that case, an 840AV is faster and can run the required number of video cards, as well as output to analog!

Yeah, but I guess I have a fundamental aversion towards using an 840av solely as a gaming platform. It just seems wrong, somehow.

If it's a rescue it's a rescue, and one more little mac is happily doing its thing, thankful to be still chugging along...

But of course - an 840av doing video/numbercrunching/etc is going to be a happier 840.

I feel sick. I'm going to phone my sis this morning about the 950's... If they've been boatanchored or tipped... I'll cry.

Now that would be an act or terrorism!

*snuffle*. Thats the businesses plan for them apparently - either they have a bit too much sentimentality for the machines the business started on, or nobody's gotten around to dumping them yet.

6:16am. too early to call yet. *sick*
