I'm finally getting around to getting my 840av up and running and need the following things:1. two 32mb SIMMs 2. larger hard drive (2 gig or better) 3. OS 8.1 cd Bear in mind that I am poor and/or cheap (take your pick) and I have nothing to trade at the moment, except cash! Nothing that is unless someone wants to take an LCIII or a IIsi off my hands. I also have a fat pile of 16mb SIMMs pulled from junked pc's at work. They are a bit too tall to work in the 840, but someone might need them. mdh |

if you have 8 identical SIMMS that will work on a Radius Rocket i might be able to trade you some more $ for your 68k slush fund, do you know if they'll work in any of the quadras? you might want to list the specs so we can make offers.jt

The simms that I have are 72 pin 16mb. Some are NEC brand, some Micron (MT), and maybe a couple of Hitachi. I have 3 or 4 matched sets of three, a couple sets of two, and a few single simms. They all appear to be 60ns or better (if interested I'll let you know for sure). Also, they all appear to work in an LCIII, however, they are a bit too tall to be put in my 840av.mdh

Check this out! Now that's a good deal, assuming a bidding war doesn't erupt (though with only 8 hours left I doubt it). I paid $50 for the four 32MB SIMMs in my 840av!666th poster to the 68K Macintosh Liberation Army Forums Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Visit my site! |

Quadra 840av's can't use 64MB SIMMs, they can only address up to 32MB ones. However, if those 64MB SIMMs are singles banked (only have chips on one side), you can put them in an LC 475. You can even put a 128MB SIMM in a LC 475, assuming you ever find one that's single-banked.666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 Regular Disappear! |

The Simms should work in the Compaq - some of them were pulled from old Pentium upgraded 486's. How many did you need, and did you need matched pairs?
