A Macintosh IIx and LaserWriter IINTX.

Seems as tho the printer needs a new Ozone filter, which I will replace.

On Monday, I'll be buying a IINT from where I bought this NTX, as to have spare parts. It makes strange clunky nouses on startup, so I'm not sure the rollers and such are all working properly.

The IIx on the otherhand, boots, but I'm not sure on the specs at the moment. THIS will be the one that receives my coveted attentions to turn it into a router and server.

I notice that you're really big on the whole nubus-card-hardware-router thing. How many macs do you expect to connect? What kind of bandwidth will you be getting? A IIx is no powerhouse. Hope it comes out well!

:)

Something I think many people don;t realize, is that terms like "Power", "Powerhouse", and others are all relative.

Most Cisco routers use 68k chips in them as the main procesor.

All but my G4 are 10 Base T Ethernet systems, so that is the bandwidth I expect.

The more specific a system/equipment is to a task, the more "powerful" it is at it.

Honestly, what uses do the 020 Mac IIs and such have? they are large by comparison to the Compact Macs, and severely underpowerd for web browsing and such.

There are select few games that run well on them. Liberation is putting old MAcs into use. Why not as routers? For under $50 (Includeing registering IPNetRouter) you have a 10 baseT router, that also does LoclTalk.

Not too shabby I'd say.
