I changed the backlight in my powerbook 520 from white to blue.I removed the white tube and replaced only the tube with two shorter blue tubes. I got them at an electronics store where they are sold for 'computer case mods' or whathaveyou. The two tubes have a gap in the middle, where it is a bit dim, but just at the top. I would go crazy if my laptop were like that! I would say "NOOO!!!"
