Hi - I was so excited to get a new BTI battery for my new (to me) PB 190 - thinking I'd get a full charge! The battery works with a 5300 and 3400 too, so I thought it must be about the most recent one you can get. But when I put it in, it 'charges' in about 5 minutes and gives about two minutes of run time. I used Apple's discharge program but it didn't seem to affect anything. Thoughts anyone? I'm morose, as I'd got this system largely for the battery possiblity - new ones are still all over eBay.

I'm assuming you bought BTI's NiMH battery, not the Li-Ion?

You may want to visit http://www.kezer.net and try the My Battery utility to observe the battery's voltage. NiMH needs to be cycled a few times before they hold full capacity, especially if it had been stored for a long time (6 months or longer). Even "new" batteries can behave this way.

Thank you - I've charged & discharged a few times and it holds more each time. Will check back in when it seems to level out.
