I'd say to go for it! It's not quite :glayven: a Key Lime iBook, but I bet that there's more things out there that'll match Graphite anyway Like I said before, in the other thread. If you can handle the somewhat low resolution, of 800 by 600, it should last you a long time, and make you very happy. That particular one, is just about as maxed as they come. IIRC anyway, 320 is the absolute ceiling for memory on those buggers. One thing I would ask the seller, is about how long the battery life usually is. It doesn't take very long to bork out a laptop's battery, and this one may have already had it's borking. I don't know how much you should pay for it, especially in £... (gotta love the option key) It looks like you're already bidding, so Imma going to say "good luck!" I hope you come out of the deal, one mac, and one laptop richer Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide Editor of the MLAgazine "I'm just a normal computer geek who somehow landed a social life" |

It was the top of the range clamshell iBooks. Allegedly only 44Mhz slower than a Pismo (see other thread!) I'd second the question about the battery - though you can get replacements (though of course that will add to the price!). I'd also second the caution about the 800x600 resolution - personally I found it a problem when using it on a clamshell, but your mileage may vary. If no-one else bids against you (current price is £102) you have the bargain of the century! . I'd personally go to about £400 before questioning how much more I really want to pay. Just my tight-fisted opinion! That said, to buy a new iBook will start around £800. Yeah if you are going for a clamshell this is the one to get, not only the fastest but it has firewire which will make a big difference when it comes to upgrading, it means you aren't stuck to 4x CD burners etcI don't think I'd go over 400, I'd prefer to get it for 300, that's the price they are going for here in Aus but everything on eBay seems t be cheaper here than it was in the UK -------- Apple ][e.
