Hi Guys,I have an old, yet reliable 840 AV whic is running hte Media 100 video card and was one of the first, quality non-linear editing sytems. The system still perfoms flawlessly but I would like to be able to network the two using either ethernet or apple talk to my G4 Imac so I could back up the video projects via the DVD on the I-Mac. Could osmeone suggest some links, hardware, old parts reseller, et. al.? Thanks, James I am old enough to have start with a Mac 512!

The Quadra 840AV has built-in ethernet which you can connect to a Hub, and also connect the iMac to the hub. You will need a AU Transciever to use the ethernet, many can be obtained off eBay for cheap these days, or you can use an old NuBus ethernet card which has the RJ-45 built into it.To share files between both macs, you can use iether Appletalk or regular TCP/IP. It depends what OS you are running on the iMac. If you use TCP/IP sharing, you can just run a FTP Server on the iMac and upload projects files from the 840AV.
