Hi,I just got a nubus NIC off Ebay and the setup so far does indeed work, at least the hardware test runs fine. Okay, what do I do now? The corresponding led at my switch is still dark. Do I use "Localtalk" or "Ethertalk" ? Where can I enter submask and ip?
MacTCP is a little bit confusing at first sight. Thanks, Dennis |

which OS are you running? might help us figure out what config will work. If you have not done so yet, try Open Transport (can find on http://www.pure-mac.com). this will add TCP/IP capabilities for your mac. Very vauge answer, but we might be able to help you further if you provide your OS.

Currently System 7.5.3
- I'm planning to format the harddisk and install 7.6 when I find the time to do that.And thanks for the link - Finally some more games ....

an opinioned recomendation would be to download the 7.5.5 updater, but it is not imperative. You can also find this on pure-mac. Download open transport 1.0 and install on your machine. Once this occurs, you will find some new control panels in your apple menu, namely TCP/IP. here you can set up an IP, or, if you have a DHCP box, you can set it to use DHCP. I use the "ethernet" setting and depending on what I need to do, I either set up the IP, or just have the machine get one through DHCP. Let me know if this helps. . .also, if others are reading, let me know if you think this is a good method. It is how I set up my ethernet, and it works for me!_____________________________________________
