Panther is being released tonight! and to those of us who don't have broadband, and who aren't some kind of uberspecial person to Apple, what where they give all the GM releases, this is a very important event.I'm completely interested in going to the Apple Store in Las Vegas (I'll be the Kid witht he Ti) and buying Panther. I have $131.something with which to buy my own boxed copy of Mac OS X 10.3 Panther. I still haven't been able to get a projector, but if I were to have gotten meself one, I wouldn't be getting panther Anyway, I'll be getting Panther and it'll be loaded up on the TiBook eventually. If I can, and I bring the TiBook, I'll log into AIM and the MLA and see if I get the chance to post and stuff. Oh, and the iBook G4's been released. That means that until we see the new G3-relabled G4 rumor from IBM, Apple is basically all G4. Panther parties are going to be at all stores it seems. Clinton's gonna be at the Apple Store in the Grove, and somebody else from the 'fritter is going to be at the Glendale store. I'm going to try to get the Northridge Store and grab a shirt and other freebies!666th poster and 666th thread-creator Lord of the Mac II Series Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 http://www.cinemafia.net/forums |

Well this sucks. You may all know, that I've been planning to go to the Vegas retail store for panther since WAAY before it was announced at WWDC. It turns out that tomorrow is actually the parentals' anniversary, so lucky me! I get to stay home with them... OH! wait, that's not all.. my brother got to go CAMPING!! now,l I would be at an apple store now if it weren't for that last thing, because they don't want to be "seperate" right? (well as it turns out, they live in seperate buildings, and would not be together at all all weekend anyway..) so they don't want to leave the phone, because my fantastic little brother might have an accident or something... Remember the windows server 2003 launch event? the one that I had been planning to go to for like... three months, and then at the very last day, dad had said no, he wouldn't take me... well, I was fantastically underwhealmed by the event, since the line was huge, I didnt buy anything, I took some piccies with my fone of the grove store, and stuff, and got the free apple panther dogtags thery were handing out at the door.anyhoo, all in all, I think that the product release was somewhat overrated for apple, or this one stank... Microsoft is the one who usually holds huge parties when products are released..Apple used to be the workhorse that got the job done without basking in any limelight.Apple is trying to be like MS in some respects and Jobs sucks at it.

Jobs is just trying to build up a frenzy so people will kill each other to make that continual upgrade. I heard some apple programs will be requiring the lastest build of OSX to install, so Jobs is pushing for both yearly hardware and software upgrades ($$$$$).I get the feeling both Jobs and Gates view their customers as suckers that they can continually pump for more money selling nice new shiny boxed versions of the same old buggy shit.

Yeah, but Jobs knows his stuff is actually good.Panther FLIES. It makes my G4 feel like a whole new machine, and was well worth the hype, speedwise alone, let alone the features. I wish I could have gone to one of the events, I want some of those dog tags ~The Penguin **| Want free 68kmla email? My only complaint seems to be rooted deep within Virtual PC.I've had to restart my machine TWO times within the last hour because of Virtual PC. That is wrong. I know that that is wrong, and I wonder if it has anything to do with VPC/Panther being not liking? Other than that, I was able to go last night, and I did get the free dogtags and a nifty apple bag and stuff. Speaking of MS parties, I almost went to the one for WinServer 2003/.NETstudio2k3, but dad didn't want to let me go to that one either (well, he couldnt' take me... or didnt' want to...)
