Hello all! I'm using the BasiliskII and the Mac OS 8.1. I try to install QuarkXPress passport 4.0.4, but I don't know how to install. There are a file named "zdatafile.1" on the Quark4.04 CD. when i click it, the os says it's not a file. My os has the "Applescriptlib" which is the same on the CD. I think i lost something I don't know there. Could you tell me? Help! Sorry my bad english! Cheers!

I believe some versions of Quark Express required the use of an ADB Dongle, which was like a hardware lock or "key" that would enable Quark to run.Without that Dongle it won't run. (The PC has no ADB Port so it can't use the Dongle.) Did the CD come with a small ADB device? As for the installer, I'm unsure. It might be the CD is bad or perhaps the installer is somewhere else. Do you have a manual?

BOJ,thank you for your reply! I downloaded it from a Hotline server. It's a full IMG file, and can be mounted. Does BasiliskII support the last version of QuarkXPress passport?

If you got the Passport version of XPress 4 you're out of luck. Like The Balance of Judgement said, you will need a Dongle. And that should be a big Problem if you use Basilisk II. The only solution would be a crack but XPress 4 is still supported (afaik).Mac II Mac IIci Mac IIcx Mac IIsi (somewhat broken..;() LC LC II LC III+ Mac Classic Quadra 650 3x Quadra 700 Quadra 800 2x Quadra 950 Performa 630 & some pre-G3 PowerMacs |

The latest version of QuarkXPress is 6.0 and it needs OS X 10.2 or higher IIRC.Will QXP 4 run on an 030 based mac? because I'd actually like to try to publish MLAgazine on a 68k Official 68k videographer Official MLA TourGuide Editor of the MLAgazine "I'm just a normal computer geek who somehow landed a social life" |
