I just got a 47gb scsi drive (thanks to BCA for the location, as well as jumper help), but I now cannot get it formatted. Drive setup does not see it, and FWB Hard disk toolkit says the drive is "not ready"Any ideas? ~The Penguin **| Want free 68kmla email? Hmm. If FWB is right and the drive really isn't ready, it might have its wait_spin jumper enabled. This jumper is used in many PC-based setups -- the drive doesn't spin up until the computer sends it a signal to do so. Macs don't work that way, so a drive with that jumper enabled just won't spin up at all, and therefore won't be detectable or "ready."Or perhaps the drive could be overloading your power supply? That's all I can think of. Good luck. Best, Matt No rank Current king of my 68k realm: - "PowerMystic" Color Classic, custom silver case, 66MHz PPC601 card, full '040, 128/2G/enet, OS 8.1 |

Humm… I had two HDs that gave me that… maybe I should try that jumper thing on them too… [I though they were dead/messed up or something; but one of them used to work…]If I open my window all the bugs will get in…That's just one more reason to use a Mac! The wait spin jumper was already removed, and this thing is getting enough power, I can obviously tell it is spinning up via the airplane-ish noise it makes (drive weighs 7 pounds, big freaking drive) Thanks though. ~The Penguin
